Rumor has it that the entire Wilkes-Barre Scranton coaching staff will be taking over the duties. But Tom Barasso will probably have an interview on Monday.

Assuming the coaching role will be the last thing that Mario does. He doesn't handle criticism well, and he'd have far less golf time.

It went about the way everybody was predicting it would after the Minnesota loss. Edzo got his walking papers, and former Montreal Canadiens coach Michel Therrien takes over. He was coach of the Pens' minor league team in Wilkes Barre, and had a good record there. Plus a lot of the players he coached there before are now on the regular Pens squad, so perhaps he will have better success guiding them than Edzo.

I'm likely heading over to catch another Pens game in early January; hopefully they will be improved by then.
