Firehalls seem to be the place or try hitting up Floodcity Fury. They are a group of Johnstown hardcore bands, etc that set shows up and also set shows up with national acts. I saw a few J-town bands get to play at Ace's Lounge with Bury Your Dead, The Red Chord, It Dies Today, and another National act. Floodcity Fury has a web link: www.floodcityfury.com Good luck...

Check vocal youth

You really need to hit up the all ages shit...metal goes REALLY well there and the people are not afraid to mosh (and are allowed to at the venues).
Look around for local metal bands on flood city, vocal youth, and hook up with them for some shows. That is your best bet for playing some bigger shows with signed acts. There isn't much in the way of a bar scene for hardcore and/or extreme metal but, if you kick ass, then it won't matter where you play.

Yeah, Vocalyouth.net - more like pretentious cocksuckers.com - I posted a post there looking for a show swap yesterday, stating we have played with such bands as Stuck in Kaos, At Hopes End, From Dissension, SinAriA, A Well Thought Tragedy, Lost in the Flood, Second Offense, among others, and these kids posted things like..Punkinhead wrote:Check vocal youth

"I have a hard time believing a band called Stuck in Kaos is one of the best bands in the East Coast.."
"Amazing.. only band I have heard of here, is At Hopes End"
now we've never done Johnstown, so Im not going to say that they represent the entire Johnstown scene - but after reading some of the things said here .. I have a hard time thinking Johnstown has too embracing of a scene - i hope like hell im wrong because the last thing we need is Pittsburgh's apathy in Johnstown..

You already have it here. Alot of the Johnstown scene is kids from Pittsburgh coming to metal shows. Go put mp3's up and tell them to listen to them...they will...if they don't, someone will give you a show, just kick everyone's ass at it musically and with your show.AtoMikEnRtiA wrote:Yeah, Vocalyouth.net - more like pretentious cocksuckers.com - I posted a post there looking for a show swap yesterday, stating we have played with such bands as Stuck in Kaos, At Hopes End, From Dissension, SinAriA, A Well Thought Tragedy, Lost in the Flood, Second Offense, among others, and these kids posted things like..Punkinhead wrote:Check vocal youth

Re: HardCORE,HARDROCK,PUNK, METAL BAnds
Classic Attitudes had been doing these sorts of all age shows during the week sporadically for a long time now. I have been after the powers that be to think about running bands again on fridays.
This past friday they did an all age show that turned out pretty good considering all the holiday parties, weather and everyone being broke bc of xmas.
They are talking about doing more all age shows on fridays if the interest is there.
944-6020 The best time to call would be friday after 7.
