Steelers 21, Chicago 9
Steelers 21, Chicago 9
The Steelers are still alive for the wild card, they got it done against Da Bears. Good to see The Bus rolling again! Now, for one of very few times ever in my life, I'm going to root for the Dallas Cowboys to take down Kansas City.
Next week will be tough, as the Steelers head to Minnesota to take on the red-hot Vikings; who themselves are battling for wild card survival in the NFC. If the Steelers can get it done at Minnesota, though, they finish against the Browns and Detroit. I still think they get the wild card if they run the table the rest of the way, since Kansas City and San Diego have far tougher schedules ahead of them and likely won't run the table the rest of the way (one definitely won't run the table, since they play each other on Christmas Eve). And if the Steelers do run the table and land the wild card slot, they will be on a four-game win streak heading straight into their wild card game, and should have some momentum going at that point.
But I won't get ahead of myself. First they have to beat the Vikings next week.

Damn, what a good Sunday to be a Steelers fan...A win over the Da Bears with our O-Line dominating the number one D in the league...San Diego loses, placing Pittsburgh ahead of them...and a KC loss...
The Steelers win out and they will be the #2 wild card...And with Leftwich out, that may move up to the #1. Things look alot better this week than last. Here's to hoping it stays up against the Vikes...

Steeler's ruled today!!! I hope they can pull together and git-er-done.
Oh yeah...I almost forgot....I had to turn off my air conditioning today because it started to get a little cooler here.

With the gifts from KC and SD Sunday, winning out should get the Black and Gold in. I think they should be able to, as long as they play Steeler football and they avoid any further injuries.
It's good to control your own destiny, and to be honest, the way the Stillers have played in the playoffs with home field advantage in recent years, I'd much rather see them come in as a wildcard road team.
Side note: R.I.P. Eagles. Sux going from first to worst.
Another side note: Must be nice to be in what has to be one of the worst divisions in football (AFC East) and be able to skate in to a division title (and the playoffs) with the same record as Pittsburgh. New England's closest competition in their division (Miami) now stands at 6-7. What a crock of sh*t. Down with the Pats.
I swear, if these bastards sneak into the playoffs and worm their way into the Super Bowl, I ... I'm gonna ... I'll just ... ummm ... nothing.

That's what she said.
Liking the Vikes was a curse from birth! Have liked them as long as I can remember. Started back in the Purple People Eaters days, Page, Eller, Marshall, etc...Geetarzz wrote:Wow. He likes the vikings and thinks that hondas are better than harleys. Well, at least from his posts we know he likes Overkill. He's got at least 1 thing going for him. Hey bag, how much can you get for a 20 year old honda? I hope that you take this in good fun and not the wrong way.
Overkill is my favorite band by a mile! On their last east coast run, I saw them 6 or 7 times! That's Derek Tailer with me in my sig pic. I've met all of them and hung out with them a few times. Really nice, down to earth guys.
A 20 year old Honda still has more modern engineering than a "new" HD. Why anyone would want one of those unreliable paint shakers is beyond me.

Kansas City's and San Diego's losses this past weekend give the Steelers a little more margin for error, but not much. One loss in their remaining games would still be bad, but wouldn't make the wild card impossible. Even if they do win out, there is a very slight chance that Kansas City could still nudge them out if they would win out as well; but given the Chiefs' remaining schedule (at NY Giants, San Diego and Cincinnati at home), I don't think that will happen. San Diego, though, is really on the ropes after their loss to Miami; they cannot afford another loss, and they visit Indianapolis this coming weekend, before having to go to Kansas City and host Denver. It's almost safe to say stick a fork in the Bolts, they're probably all but done after this weekend.Do they have to run the table or can they just win 2 out of 3 and still make the wildcard?

I agree. Too many times the Steelers have had homefield and not won. Maybe a change is in order.BadDazeRob wrote:With the gifts from KC and SD Sunday, winning out should get the Black and Gold in. Also, if the Steelers do get in, they get to travel to Cincinatti or New England for the first game. I would like to see them go to New England, I think that they will beat them. But that would most likely mean having to be the top wild card which can only happen with 2 Jaguar losses in the next three games and the Steelers winning out.
Damn Maddox....
