I use to have a set on my last kit...I turned them up tight for a higher pitch on long kit rolls or just for a pop accent on certain songs...they were cool when our singer in the last band would climb up on the riser and turn them back and forth to give some strange sounding rolls and crank downs to dead notes on song ends....

I still use rotos, I have a 10", 12" and a 14" mounted off of a gibraltar rack. I also have 6", 8" and a 16" in my attic I do not use becauce the head to the mount is busted. I have looked for just a roto stand to buy, but you have to buy the whole set.
here is a pic .

I have the Remo 6,8,10 rack. I'm actually looking to get rid of them. PM if interested.
