Ace Of Spades

Post by SpellboundByMetal »

does anyone cover "Ace of Spades" by Motorhead around here? shit, any motorhead would be cool. AoS just kicks so much ass. the whole album is killer all the way through.

oh yeah, by the way, has anyone been keeping up with MANDATORY METAL on 104.9??? i hope Kev and i werent the ONLY ones who heard NILE last week. there is some serious BADASS metal on 104.9 at 10pm. they would NEVER play that metal on the radio back in MD. thanks kevin!

Used to cover it in the mid-eighties.

As the herald and songsmith can verify, one of the wildest highlights on the "Backyard Rocker" so far was during last March's "Acoustic Jam Special," when a bunch of musicians with acoustics, a banjo, and a harmonica did an 8-minute acoustic jam edition of "Ace Of Spades." This monster took on a life of its own, and when the final note was hit, everybody just broke into laughter. A truly evil jam. Definitely it will be part of my highlight reel when I do the end-of-year special and next March's anniversary special.

That tune was a BLAST and I recall several of the Musicians came over to the 'Post afterward and jammed.

I did that song with about every band I played with.
Too bad I'm not jamming regularly these days.
I still remember it though.

The band VENDT use to cover it a few years ago. I believe there Bassist Jason Herbert sang it. It sounded really good. But there no longer around.

 OMG if someone actually covered that song I would actually get up on stage and dance naked. Ok not naked because the bar would be shut down but as close to it as I could without getting everyone busted. I love Motorhead. If someone played a cover of something off of Inferno I would totally dance naked screw the Fuzz. It's a little known fact that Lemmy is actually my real mom. 8)
