Great post songsmith! Ya hit the nail on the head for sure man. All hat and no cowboy.....Yeah buddy! I would say that sums it up pretty well.
I like the idea of a thread giving our real names but, then again why should we the "MUSICIANS OF ROCKPAGE" have to do that? If these "TROLLS" would go out to our shows we would all know who each other are! They'll never say who they really are and we all know that by now. What a bunch of cowards they are.

The word "talent" doesn't do you justice Johnny! You've got something that most people will never have or be able to obtain any time in life.
No need for ya to be modest ,seriously, we all know who you are,what you're about and that's why we all continue to support ya in any way we can! So, ROCK ON BROTHER you da man!

With any message board of moderate activity, you're going to experience a certain influx of trolls. Trolls like attention; they like people to respond, especially if it's with anger. The best thing to do with trolls is to expose them for the idiots they are. Trying to rationalize with them is going to get you nowhere.

A few summers ago, we use to get hit by this idiot called ANTHRAX on our message board. He seemed angry that we would always be higher up on the Rockpage band list than his favorite band. How asinine is that? Anyways, he called Rob a "spineless douche", so Rob adopted it as his moniker, and thus all of the "douche" offshoots were born. old sKool and I would respond by writing mini-thesis papers about the deep-seated roots of ANTHRAX's psychosis. Finally, he realized that he wasn't getting a rise out of us, and he was looking like a total ass to anyone who was reading the guestbook. We could have responded by saying things like, "Fuck you asshole", but that would have just escalated the situation.

If there's one thing that I've learned, it's that the more successful you become, the more shit you have to deflect. Majority of the flame wars that erupt on Rockpage have their basis in jealousy. If a local band were to ever get signed from here, it would become obvious who that band's true friends are.

I know we're supposed to be "nice",
but it seems to me that some people just can't retain any of what they've read over the last weeks or months. There is what some may equate with success - and then there's what others realize is true success. Songsmith is where he wants to be, doing exactly what he wants to do with his life. Most of all, he's HAPPY...if that's not "success", then I don't know what is.

i understand the rules and all...... but sometimes you just have those "TROLLS" that have to put negative input in.

Which makes everyone mad with some of the jerkoff stuff they say!
No surrender for instance......Has this alter ego about being a "musician" and i think it is nothing more than a child , hiding behind the computer screen. Which also goes to show ,that this is why "IT" wont come out to see any bands when asked to show up and introduce "IT" self! not old enough to get into a bar!

Isnt there an minimum age requirance?

with that being said it is hard to ignore their dumb,lamebrain comments. They just like to cause problems,because their real life is boring and unsatisfying.
I suggest these trolls to look into after school programs.... you know ones like "keep kids off drugs" " band " "chorus"... you get the idea!!

Also maybe when they get a band or something .... we can all go and raz the band as they do many of the ones here!!!! lol

no i just thought it was funny that the post became what jim was tryin to prevent . ill admit like every movie there always has to be a villian to make things interesting , hell it applies to everything really, how would we appreciate the good things if we had no bad to compare them to? there have been some trollers that have deliberately came to rockpage just to try to provoke and insult people for what reason? boredome! the thing i personally dont like is when a person has a personal problem with something someone did in real life, and come on here and tell everyone and theres no point in that call the damn person and deal with it, but....it does make the drama which people are used to seeing on t.v. we just have to realize that a lot of us know each other personally and it pisses us off when idiots say a bunch of crap they dont know anything about and then remain publicly anonomous what are these people hiding from? if they are saying what they believe in why do they hide? if you have a problem come out to a show and talk about it! why are these people so miserable anyways . if you would come out and hang with the pagers maybe youd realize were real people and not here to play mind games. o.k im done now
