Best concert you ever went to?
Pink Floyd- Pittsburgh Three Rivers Stadium. Division Bell tour. Trippin Hard!!!!!! Nothing can compare to Floyd on Cid. Messed me up for weeks.
I'll agree with the Professor on the Queensryche in J-town Building Empires tour. WOW
Queensryche's Promised Land tour I saw at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago was equally impressive.
Rush w/Primus opening two nights in a row at the Rosemont Horizon.
Slayer with Testament- Syria Mosque in Pittsburgh '89. Front row. Brutal.

However i will say that the most entertaingin one i was at was the janet jackson and Usher concert in '98.(BJC).... she had like 5-6 different stage sets and like 20 different outfits.i swear the tour was like 20 mil easy just in the stage performances and sets.Very entertaining..... i know you are all laughing lmao!!! haha
But i loved all my CREED concerts they're no 1 for me and
red hot chili peppers kicked ass also i'd say they would be my no 2!!
This was a great topic , its great to see the different reply's.
I didn't LOL. JJ had some good stuff. I own Control and Rhythm Nation. Usher's been popular for a while and he recently had a hit with Nelly and someone else.

Best show I have ever seen!!!!
Well, nobody can pick just one. I have seen Phish 138 times, so here's my rundown on my top 3 shows I have seen Phish perform.
1.12/31/99 NYE Big Seminole Indian Res., Big Cypress, FL- They played a set from 11:45 p.m on the 31st till 7:15 a.m. on the 1st of the Millenium. I am not shitting you either, straight up 7 hr. set. I was with my band member Dustin Burley for the whole thing.
2. 9-18-00 Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Blossum Music Center- just amazing!
3. 9-30-00 Thomas and Mack Center, UNLV, Las Vegas-It was Trey's Birthday and I had front row rail baby, I waited 100 plus shows to hear Phish do Forbin's>Mockingbird, and it blew my mind. I even made the DVD titled "Phish Live in Vegas".
You all know I am a huge Phishead, so what else did you expect.

The first time I heard Petty and the Heartbreakers was live on SNL and then BOOM they were all over the airwaves! (Same with The Police.) The thing with Petty earlier this year, his show with the Crowes was during the week, I didn't have a car during the week then and nobody to go with.
Waaaaah! If I could have made it to Altoona, I knew several people going, but that didn't help me any.
If you re-read Bit'chen's Post, Creed IS her #1!

Hawk, was that around 73 or 74? I saw ELP up in Buffalo Rich stadium in quad sound, Lynard Skynard opened (we did not know them then), THe James Gang w Joe and ELP. Keith Emerson was falling down drunk by the end.Hawk wrote:Emerson Lake and Palmer
The "Welcome Back My Friends to the Show That Never Ends" tour.
At the (then called) Civic Arena in Pittsburgh. The sound was in QUAD and the roof was OPEN on a starry night. Everything was perfect and ELP just kicked ass.
Chick Corea with Peter Erskin playing drums.

Over the years there have been so many, but here are a few that really as one of a kind.
John McLaughlin & The Mahavishnu Orchestra at St. Francis College, front row 10 feet from the stage.
Emerson, Lake and Palmer with YES as the opening act.
Robin Trower and King Crimson at the Stanley Theater, now the Benadum Theater in Pittsburgh.
Frank Zappa and the Mother of Invention at the Stanley Theater
Robert Fripp and Bill Bruford in separate shows at the Decade in Oakland which is now closed. This would be like seeing them at the Hitching Post except closer.
King Crimson at Rec Hall, got back stage passes, met the band after the show.
Floyd, at Three Rivers
Oh I almost forgot Clapton at the Mellon Arena (Civic Arena), dead center on stage, ten rows back on the floor, Mark Knofler as his rhythm guitarist. Bought my ticket 20 minutes before Clapton and the band hit the stage what luck.
Last but not least, Janis Joplin with Big Brother and the holding company in New Jersey - 1969

So am I the oldest person on this board or what! (I know John Homerski is older that me!) LOL!!!!!!!!
My best concert was the original BYRDS in 1966 at the Steel Pier in Atlantic City. I was 13 years old, had never even been kissed and was wearing a "crew cut". I had never even seen long hair. Then we're standing in front of a stage for about a half an hour and the some cat comes out with hair down to his shoulders and starts talking over the microphone about some "up coming" events but is actually doing a sound check. Then 4 guys with hair down to their shoulders walk out on stage with guitars on and plug into Fender Dual Showmans and blast off at about MACH 10! I never heard anything so loud in my life. My patents freeked and headed for the "Bomb Shelter". They "nailed" all their hits. I was in shock!

The Byrds were the first concert of my freshman college year at U of Scranton. John Hartford opened, then the Earl Scruggs review with Vassar Clemmens on fiddle, and then the Byrds. this was early Sept. , 1972.
for the encore, Hartford came onstage with his fiddle, and Roger McGuinn of the Byrds had his banjo, so there was dual fillles with Vassar and Hardford and dual banjos with Earl and McGuinn. the last song of the night was about a 20 min jam of the "Beverly Hillbillies" song with all 2000 of us sing along.
This was my first major concert, and I thought, I am going to really like going to college. lol

#1 Gwar on their Carnival of Chaos tour in 1996. It was my first REAL concert that I went to on my own, and it locked them in as my favorite band forever.
#2 KISS on the first leg of the multi-multi-multi legged reunion tour at the Civic Arena, my first arena show.
#3 Slayer/Pantera/Skrape/Morbid Angel in Philly--enough said, hehehe
Honorable Mention - Reel Big Fish, Frenzal Rhomb, Hatebreed, Testament (met Chuck Billy, what an awsome dude!) Diamond Head, Manowar for the sheer absurdity and pompousness (Don't tell anyone, but I really do like their songs) and Static X. I'm sure there are more, be back later...
PS - did anyone catch Tattoo The Earth the one year it ran? Slipknot, Slayer, Sepultura, Muvayne + more, excellent outdoor metalfest
