I have 2 answers for this one...

For "The Show", meaning the whole experience, that's easy. Korn and Rob Zombie at the BJC a few years back.

For the music from a musicians' point of view, my answer would have to be David Lee Roth on the Eat 'Em And Smile tour back in 1987 at Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor.

Done? Okay. Here is my reasoning for that:

1. At that time, Dave's band was Steve Vai (guitars), Billy Sheehan (Bass), and Gregg Bissonette (drums). Pound for pound, one of the best bands ever assembled.

2. Tesla opened the show. They were on the "Mechanical Resonance" tour, and GOD did they rock. Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeoch were, and are STILL (in my mind) the most underrated guitar duo of all time.

3 shows - both at crowbar..

1) Hatebreed, w/ Otep, God Forbid, Throwdown and Hyphema
- Insane fuckin show, despite the fact it was in August, it was 100 degrees outside and 150 inside the crowbar with an extremely packed crowd. People actually left because they got sick and fainted..

2) Breaking Benjamin w/ Theory of A Deadman and The Exies
- I stood out in 20 degree february air, with a windchill of 10 below, the day after a snowstorm for 2 and a half hours waiting to get into this show - wearing nothing more than a t-shirt and a pair of shorts - needless to say I was sick for 3 weeks afterwards. Show was worth it though. Breaking Benjamin sold out - and the Exies burned the house down..

3) Chevelle w/ Dark New Day
- As un-believable as it is, because I was at the Hatebreed show in State College. The crowd at Chevelle in the Crowbar was 10 times rougher than at Hatebreed. The pit was fuckin insane, people were getting thrown around like rag-dolls. I went with my best friend, his girlfriend and a female friend of mine - i was the very first person in the door - so i had a rail spot on the floor along side my friends, as well as the rhythm guitarist for No Warning Shot and the bassist for Eyes of Anguish - at the end of the night - me and my female friend were the last 2 standing up front as my best friend and his girlfriend got shifted to the back, Dusty (bassist of E.o.A) got shifted to the back, Bryan (guitarist for No Warning Shot) couldn't handle the crowd and walked out, and my female friend hugged the rail and i held onto her. At the end of the night i had people come up to me and tell me how they were blown away that i just stood there while people threw themselves all around and i didn't budge. it was hilarious... the show owned all!

I was at the show. It was def. insane. Hatebreed, Throwdown, and God Forbid all ripped it up. Otep blew ass though. If they would have played more songs and less poetry, they would have been good.

Best show...

Iron Maiden on the Give Me Ed...Till I'm Dead tour with Dio and Motorhead. Amazing show. Saw it at the PGP. All 3 bands were amazing. When Dio was playing Heaven And Hell, he brought out a Linda Blair doll.

Pink Floyd in '73 for the Dark Side of the Moon tour, in the Philly Sprectrum, in quadrasound.

A year later, Jethro Tull same venue.

Another year later, on July 4, 1975 saw Charlie Daniels Band open, the Marshall Tucker band, and Charlie came out and played fiddle for most of thier show. Then the headliner was ZZ Top. I did not think they could top Tucker with CD, but they did. This was the Fandango album tour before the beards, and I remember about a 30 minute version of "Blue Jean Blues".

Rush at the Civic Arena during their Test For Echo tour. Reason being is that they decided to do 2112 in its entirety. That was the first time I had seen it done, so for me, that was a huge moment in my life.

Being in the front at the Crowbar with Days of the New was simply amazing. That was also my first experience hearing the live growl of a Spector!

All 5 times I've seen DT have been like religious experiences! Add on top of that G3 with Petrucci and my life is almost complete.

The completion of my life would be me going to a BassDay concert with Wooten, Manring, Burbridge, Bailey, and more. (I would also like to see guys added to the list like Bill Dickens and Adam Nitti along with some non-solo bassists like Sheehan, Hamm, Myung, Geddy, and Flea!)

I'd cut off both my pinky toes to see something that!

Hellloween in NYC in a club in the Village, AWESOME!!!
UDO at JAXX
GAMMA RAY in Atlanta, PROG-POWER
EdGuy in Atlanta, PROG-POWER

My list goes on and on...but that is a few.

Arena wise, this may be unpopular but....KISS on the Hot in the Shade tour put on a great stage show.

Overkill's DVD show in Asbury Park NJ. Best live band ever in my opinion. They just ripped that place apart for 2 hours!

Dio in Philly on the Holy Diver tour. I still get chills thinking about the stage show during "Heaven and Hell!" And because Kiss was my favorite band as a kid, and I never got to see them live, the Reunion "make-up" tour was GREAT! Nobody can touch that stage show.

These three rank as the best concerts I've seen:

Judas Priest/Whitesnake/Iron Maiden at Cambria County War Memorial Arena, Johnstown - Summer 1981. Maiden with Paul DiAnno opened the concert, and was the only opening band I ever saw that got called back up to do an encore. Everybody cleared out of the floor area for Whitesnake (this was 4-5 years before they scored their biggest hits), so my friends and I moved towards the front, and witnessed the spectacle of Priest during their Point Of Entry tour. I remember the wild strobe lights during the guitar solos on "Beyond the Realms of Death" and "Victim of Changes," and Rob Halford riding the Harley out on stage for "Hellbent for Leather." Absolutely fantastic!

Queensryche/Warrior Soul at Cambria County War Memorial Arena, Johnstown - November 1990. Queensryche on the Empire tour; they performed the entire Operation: Mindcrime album, complete with stage imagery, a female vocalist depicting "Sister Mary" and more. This show solidified Queensryche's status as one of my all time favorite bands. Also memorable was that it was ice storm conditions riding over the mountain to the War Memorial for the show, which made the show all the more special, because of what we had to deal with to get there.

Tool/Fantomas at Hershey Park Arena, Hershey - September, 2002. Tool during the Lateralus tour, absolutely mindblowing. Tool's precision playing, Maynard's enigmatic presentation, and unforgettable video screen imagery all combined for an unforgettable show. Their show at Bryce Jordan Center two months later also was great, but I thought the atmosphere and sound at Hershey were slightly better.

ive been to some kiss shows, skid row shows, slipknot shows, mudvayne shows. and all of them were good. but august 27th 2005 at Surf "N" Skate

eyes of anguish,second offense,4 days dirty,chocking faith,dragon fire,face rape.

it was probly the most insane 6 hours of my life. lol

second offense won that battle tho
face rape took 2nd and EOA took 3rd. it was insane. pure noise for 6 hours....its heaven. lol

Emerson Lake and Palmer

The "Welcome Back My Friends to the Show That Never Ends" tour.

At the (then called) Civic Arena in Pittsburgh. The sound was in QUAD and the roof was OPEN on a starry night. Everything was perfect and ELP just kicked ass.

Say what you will about their politics or what they have become, but to see Metallica live is to see one of the great blitzkrieg attacks of music, and DotN and Cantrell were both amazing....it was also my birthday

Our Lady Peace - HUB - IUP
One of those great small setting concerts where the energy was amazing (sorry no lasers involved if I remember correctly), but it was amazing and began my lifelong love of OLP

Van Halen - 1996 - PPG - Balance Tour
Amazing show. Was just starting to go to concerts, and EVH blew my mind.....

OZZY/Korn/Deftones - 1996 - Erie Civic Center
My first of six times seeing the Ozz, and it was one of those great days and concerts that I will always remember...

There are many more I could list, but I have work to do.....

I can't name one (been to so many) but here is my top 5 list, no particular order

1) Pink Floyd - Division Bell tour @ 3 Rivers Stadium
2) Phish @ Merriweather Post Pavilion (~1999? ... its all a blur)
3) Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA tour @ Civic Arena (don't laugh, this concert was GREAT, sound quality was awesome, played LONG)
4) Santana & Rusted Root @ StarLake - ~2000
5) Fleetwood Mac @ HersheyPark 2004

2 honorable mentions just for the novelty of them: One was Gregg Allman playing Sweet Melissa on a stool right in front of me and throwing me his pick at the old Ciscos, the other was my favorite Bob Dylan playing right in front of me in my own hometown (a rare GOOD show too)

I'm honestly a little verklempt, REALLY, remembering the first Concert I went to and it was the only Concert I ever got to attend with my brother. He'd wanted to take me to other "real" concerts over the years, also to see "The Wall" and the "Rocky Horror Picture Show", but of course, my mother wouldn't allow it. I own "The Wall", but I've still never seen "Rocky Horror" in a theatre. She says I'm having a second childhood. I never had a first. Any way, it was to see none other than Sha Na Na at the Allentown Fair...yep, Sha Na Na, Summer of 1980...I was 17.

For the BEST Concerts: the next ones I was at, Skid Row and Men at Work, then Cheap Trick and Reo Speedwagon, 1985, Norfolk VA; Staind and Disturbed, May of '99, small venue in Scranton and they kicked ass. (Honorable mention, because they ROCKED in '99 are Poison and Ratt. Ratt I saw twice, once with Poison-CC had a broken ankle, received the evening before, but played on in a cast-LA Guns and Great White at Montage Mountain in Scranton and the second time I was front and center, small venue, the opener was Caroline's Spine, at Tink's, a small venue in Scranton.) Jimmy Page and The Black Crowes, June 2000 - NJ, not long before Jimmy fell and hurt his back, ending the Tour...they played many Led Zeppelin tunes and getting to hear and see Page in action is something I'll never forget! The G3 Tour, November '03 at the Palumbo in Pittsburgh; Skynyrd 09-30-2004 at the Bloomsburg Fair with my 3 children, sister and youngest nephew was a "moment"... Also still with me, there was definitely "Soul Shine" at the Allman Brothers Band concert July 16, 2005...I keep asking UCJoe to NOT burn me a copy of the CDs from that show. I've offered to let him NOT burn the CDs from the 09-05-2004 ABB show.

Our Lady Peace is one of those bands that aren't too heavy, yet they aren't too soft - they blend the perfect harmony, vox, and musical performance to make it all work. Ive never had the chance to see Our Lady Peace (although i now have tix for the Clarion show, thank the fuck christ for friends @ Clarion) but i have always wanted to go - and now that im going i can prolly die happy, it's absolutely beautiful music at it's finest..

I've seen some great shows, but the best live band that I have ever seen has to be Clutch. They never disappoint. They always mix up their set and they even jam. So many bands that I see are just boring, but Clutch will always be great.

Tough One.....

#1. Metallica/Nugent/Sevendust/Kid Rock - Pontiac Sliverdome, Detroit - December 31, 1999 - Y2K.

Through my brother's connections with Nugent, we got Prime seats for our group of 5. However, some old couple didn't know what they were getting into and traded us 5 floor tickets for our 5 seats. Luckily we got in early (another Nuge connection) and ended up 10 feet from stage.

We ended up standing for over 6 hours. People moshing and stomping everywhere, getting hauled out on stretchers, sweat, puke, and some of the biggest joints I've ever seen in my life. The security in front of the stage were bringing in cases of bottled water and throwing them out to the front row. At midnight, no one knew what to expect.......

They showed times square on the screens and just at midnight all the lights go out, and all 4 bands break into Detroit Rock city. INSANE!

Highlights: Nuge riding that buffalo on stage, everyone playing together, the enegry and vibe of that night.

#2. Days of the New at the Crowbar: Definately an unbelievable show. I'm a big Days fan and seeing Meeks up close (I saw them open for metallica) play that acoustic like that is just unbelievable.

#3. Reel Big Fish at the Crowboar.....shit, this was the first time, but it must of been 98 or 99??? The first time I was at the Crowbar and the first time seeing Reel Big Fish. I don't remember my feet touching the floor the whole night......God I miss Penn State!

well i have'nt been to too many big concert Ex: BJC or Pitts post gaz etc)
However i will say that the most entertaingin one i was at was the janet jackson and Usher concert in '98.(BJC).... she had like 5-6 different stage sets and like 20 different outfits.i swear the tour was like 20 mil easy just in the stage performances and sets.Very entertaining..... i know you are all laughing lmao!!! haha

But i loved all my CREED concerts they're no 1 for me and
red hot chili peppers kicked ass also i'd say they would be my no 2!!
