I have the CD. It's pretty hard not to notice it. :P

Since I just played it on the air, "Everything Dies" by Type O Negative. I had forgotten how much I love the balance of power and delicacy of that song. The swell going into the chorus still raises the hair on my arms. Great f*cking song!!

I was watching the video of that and could not believe I saw 2 hot guitarists both playing smoking leads and then even went into harmony solos. Wow, was I watching something leftover from the 70's?? Maybe the era of bands who do not know how to play tasteful guitar leads is returning.

Sorry, I didn't read into the forum, but my favorite song right now is
Helpless from the garage days CD. Even knowing that James and Lars are about the biggest assholes that i've ever been able to watch on DVD, at least when they put Garage Days out, it was about the music and not the money. Hell, they have more money than they will ever need. It seems kind of funny that when they were first starting out that they were pretty much all for people trading and sharing any form of media that they had. I guess once you have more than you'll ever need, you will just want more. Wow.......way off topic. I like Helpless right now. Things will change. It may be Funeral for a Friend (love lies bleeding) next week, or maybe even Moondance.

I think the title is "The Last DJ",
by Tom Petty...I hadn't heard that one in a while. It speaks of Legal battles over downloading music, sometimes only certain tunes getting airplay, i.e. Political issues regarding Music, ("there goes your Freedom of Choice"...) and of course, I couldn't help but think of JP and all he does to support local music - and my other fav DJs too, they know who they are. :) If it wasn't for "The Backyard Rocker" and "PA Musician Magazine", I most likely would have been languishing up here for the last year and a half plus. (I finally made it "out" to Altoona for the first time February 13, 2004, I believe it was, to The Bar. [I'm good with remembering numbers and dates, but I've improved with names!] I tried to make it down in January, but that's a whole other story. :)) THANK YOU, JP!

Anything on Danny Gatton's Redneck jazz explosion, recorded live in '78. It hasn't left the canes cd player in 5 months.

I heard this song on Q94 the other morning. It was about a drunken Scotsman who had his kilt lifted by two young ladies. Freaking hilarious. I was wondering if anyone knows the artist and song title and where it can be found

It's called "The Scotsman" and is one of my favorite Q-94 morning comedy bits...I don't know who does it, I had recorded it onto a cassette with many other tunes, but
it's no longer in my possession.

I read a lot about the song "Maggot Brain" by Funkadelic. I finally got a copy. All the words I read saying how powerful and emotional the song is did not even come close to the beauty of the solo. Eddie Hazel was an incredible talent.......So, um, I guess my new favorite song of the moment is......Maggot Brain. Check it out if you haven't

The song is "The Scotsman" by Bryan Bowers. It's available on a Dr. Demento CD set, 20th Anniversary Edition. You should be able to locate it in the comedy section of the CD store.

A7x is a good band.. but Bat Country in my opinion is a little weak after the opening segment of the song.. just my opinion :)
