"Led Zeppelin Sucks!"

Post by YankeeRose »

Hurricane said to tell you all "hi"
for him, to let you know that he misses everyone and that he's "really Jonesin", not having Internet Access, which should be restored within a few days, at most. Hurricane had said that we should yell "no surrender" and see if anyone looked, but instead, I yelled the Subject! I don't REALLY think that Led Zeppelin sucks...it was a joke, "hahaha". We were seeing if we could "flush out a Troll". The 2 possible "suspects" I have in mind weren't there tonight...at least they weren't on the dance floor, that I could see.

Barney Sledge wowed the crowd doing vocals on, IMHO, absolutely perfect renditions of "Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay" (I heard/saw Felix doing at least some of the whistling...they are all consummate professionals, getting through that part without LOL!), "Chain Of Fools" and "Mustang Sally". If you weren't there, YOU MISSED IT! Our own songsmith also assisted on vocals and joined in on Harp on more than 2 tunes...proceeding to help blow the place away...a crowd of that size all "into" it? WHOO HOO!!! I ran off at the fingers again...

I like false harmonics because they're a lot easier to control than the natural harmonics. It sucks though when they fall off the fretboard.

It think that was a joke :) and he's speaking of using a Harmonica as a slide...if you say you "don't no what a slide is", then you are hopeless.

I use my harmonica as a slide on "Train Train," because I have a harp solo directly after the slide solo. I thought it was pretty impressive, but nobody's ever noticed. Maybe that's for the best. ----->JMS

I was busting her balls over the typo, but I was referring to a harmonic note, which are the "bell-like" sounds produced on a stringed instrument without fretting them the whole way down to the fretboard. The note you are actually playing is mathematically determined by the place that you're fretting and the distance between the nut and bridge. Those are natural harmonics. You can cut the distance in half by barring the neck and holding the harmonic with your thumb (the usual place is one octave up from where your fretting, but you can do other notes) and then plucking the note. Those are false/artificial harmonics.

J ---- I actually have.,,I am surprised the surface of your harp is flat and smooth enough to work and well as a glass or brass slide.

You should not be giving away Buck trade secrets.

No surrender-----just go out and purchase a guitar, and take some lessons. You will then gain an incredible insight into some of the thoughts that are going on in these threads.

It actually doesn't work as well as a real brass slide, but it's the only way I can hit the first note of the harp solo.-------->JMS

Jesus-fucking-Christ, I'll answer the question. A slide's just a piece of glass, wood, or metal used to play a stringed instrument. It's usually used on a steel guitar, dobro, and yes, a normal six-string guitar. Listen to just about any Bonnie Raitt song to hear one being used.

ucjoe, ns is a TROLL...one that may very well already know how to play Guitar. (I was only PLAYING with the Troll, ZXW, hence my "I knew you'd give that answer" and "go back into your Cave".) ucjoe, what are you trying to say? Just because someone doesn't know the first thing about playing an instrument, like you, they couldn't possibly have any insight or really appreciate and love music? I can't read or play a single note of music, but it moves me, body and Soul.

ME a "bitch"? Well, I suppose I can be, if someone pushes me far enough, but I think that's true of almost anyone, in any given situation. What I was doing here, you moronic Troll, is defending those of us who are "only" Fans. ucjoe's words hurt my feelings. :(

"You say Bitch like it's a BAD thing!" I really have NO problem being called a Bitch...do YOU? However, I'm not one in the sense you mean. I call myself the "GOOD" Bitch of the East"...I'm a very Peaceful, fun-loving person, but if a person gives someone I care about any trouble, I don't forget it. This includes great emotional pain, manipulation and lies - what might be called your basic back stabbing.

no surrender, I realize you're a Troll, but outside of that fact, I offered you Peaceful co-existance, what IS your problem?
