Like that song too PastaJoe, its funny. Did you ever hear DAC do 'The Devil Went Down To Jamaica'?

ZappasXWife, this isn't a "cat fight"...it's WAR with an EGO-MANIACAL Troll. Besides, I
seriously doubt no surrender is a "kitty". "Bob's" lyrics fit, so it's okay, calm down. :) Although, I've "had money" and I know for a FACT you can't buy happiness and I never looked down upon others. That's ALL no surrender's deal. The lyrics PastaJoe Posted? Yeah, the words "if that's not Country, you can kiss my ass" are funny, as they would be to any 3rd Grader and maybe it's meant to be a funny song, I don't know, I've never heard it...but if you take much of those lyrics literally, to me they are anything but "funny".

A great night for stage diving. I vividly remember how I felt the next day. :(

What was the name of the first band? I remember that they were from Pittsburgh and that the singer was sporting a "Half Life Club" T-shirt.

They are when DAC delivers them. You'd just have to hear the song...

I'm not sure if my recollection is 100% on this, but I think the first band was Eviction.

That's the only time I've ever witnessed stage-diving at the Lakemont Casino. And Songsmith himself was assisting with the stage-divers - I have photos!

Not a big DMB fan, nor am I really into organized religion, but maybe that's what this is about??????? Maybe I like this song b/c there's no violin or sax's in it....

I'm driving through the desert I, met a man
Who told me of his crazy plan
He'd been walking there for 20 days
He was going to walk on
For 20 more
Said "How about a drink or a bite to eat?"
He said "No, my faith is all I need"
So then, save me
Save me mister walking man
If you can

You don't need to prove a thing to me
Just give me faith, make me believe
Come on, save me
Save me Mister walking man
If you can

Then towards the end......

(Might try savin' yourself)
I'm gonna save me
(Might try savin' yourself)
I swear those lips shine
(Might try savin' yourself)
As it, the moon, the moon it shines
(Might try savin' yourself)
Why don't you, save me
(Might try savin' yourself)
Come on and save me
(Might try savin' yourself)

Mackovyak and others, if you like those lyrics, what about "Requiem For America" by none other than Blind Jonny Death...and there's no Violin or Sax in it, either. :)

THAT'S IT!!! They were selling their t-shirts with a Mickey Mouse skeleton on it.

That would imply that Songsmith and I have met!

We may have "met" Bert! When kids would come up on the stage to jump, I'd put a little backspin on 'em, to make it interesting. I'd never actually seen stagediving before that... Nuke Assault's bassist had to explain it to me. I did, however, draw back a fist when people would climb the PA stacks... PA gear's sacred!----->JMS

It was pretty obvious that it was your first experience with stage diving!! :P

Do you remember the drum techie that couldn’t quite grasp the concept of tuning one bass drum higher than the other?

I've always like this one, even my kids like it...to me the lyrics speak of all Genres of music, whether recorded or live. I found there's nothing quite like hearing, dancing and singing along to it (With some great people!), as it was performed by Beyond Reason last night...

"Drift Away" (Dobie Gray)

Day after day I'm more confused
So I look for the light in the pouring rain
You know that's a game that I hate to lose
I'm feelin' the strain, ain't it a shame

Oh, give me the beat, boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Oh, give me the beat, boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away

Beginning to think that I'm wastin' time
I don't understand the things I do
The world outside looks so unkind
I'm countin' on you, to carry me through

And when my mind is free
You know a melody can move me
And when I'm feelin' blue
The guitar's comin' through to soothe me

(To ALL the local bands/groups/duos I've seen over the years and to those I've yet to see: )

"Thanks for the JOY that you've given me...
I want you to know I believe in your song...
Rhythm and rhyme and harmony...
You help me along, makin' me strong!"

I fly a starship
Across the Universe Divide
And when I reach the other side
I'll try to find a place to rest my spirit if I can
Or perhaps I may become a highway man again
Or I may be a simple drop of rain
But I will remain.......
(Highwayman - Johnny Cash/The Highwaymen)

Threw you the obvious and you flew
With it on your back, a name in your recollection,
Thrown down among a million same.
Difficult not to feel a little bit disappointed and passed over
When I've looked right through
To see you naked and oblivious and
You don't see me
(Three Libras - A Perfect Circle)

Broadway is dark tonight
A little bit weaker than you used to be
Broadway is dark tonight
See the young man sitting
In the old man's bar
Waiting for his time to die
(Broadway - The Goo Goo Dolls)

There's a train everyday leaving either way
There's a world, you know
There's a way to go
And you'll soon be gone -- that's just as well
This is my opening farewell
(Opening Farewell - Jackson Browne)

I've got soul, but I'm not a soldier
(All of These Things I've Done - The Killers)

There's no use to fight this wrenching tourniquet of deprivation
Obedience subservience leads to substance
(Internal Primates Forever - Mudvayne)
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.
