Life's Journey

Cool quote I saw today........

"Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting..Holy Shit!! What a Ride!!"

Thanks for the reminder...this is the way I'd heard it. I've always shouted WHOO HOO as much as possible, whether on a Roller Coaster with my hands up all the way, on the back of a motor cycle, or during GREAT live music! :)

I remember sitting on the arm of the couch with my dad listening to Paved Paradise and him saying that that was the truth.

Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you got till it's gone? Paved Paradise, put up a parking lot.

That's the Gods-honest truth too. How many of us don't realize all the good things we have? How many of us just realize that we're being trodden upon by others...that we should be getting more and more and more... and not stop to think or cherish what we've got? It's like this...A dozen roses sitting in a vase is pretty for a week, but the field of clover by the side of your house...on a warm summers day...with the wind blowing....I'd trade that vase for the field any day...because before you know it, you're getting a new neighbor and that field just got plowed over.....it's now the basement.
The same goes for friends and loved ones. How many people have we treated like door mats? I've been trying to right any sins I've committed against others since gradeschool. I have a few left to finish...and a few more friends gained in the process... I've also been forgotten for this reason. The bigger better picture.

I'll be the one left standing behind you, looking the other way as you glance back at what you've lost.

Amen, Sister Esa, Amen! Kids are cruel and nobody's perfect. Some adults are even more so, but we shouldn't let it affect how we treat others, for then we're no better than they are. "Can't we all just get along?" Someone else said it in another Post.
Simplistic words, maybe even slightly moronic, considering the person who gave us that quote and yet, except for Trolls and those who don't seem to want to get along with anyone in life, so true! ...and unless I've grow them, cut Roses? Nah, I like Carnations, they smell good and if you keep cutting them, last a long time...or even better, Lilacs! :)

Original quote I first read a few days ago:

"Religion is for people who are afraid of going to hell. Spirituality is for people who have already been there."

I modified it and tried to add it to my signature, but it was then too long, so here it is:

"Religious" people are afraid of going to hell..."Spiritual" people have already been there."
