Happy "Big Four O" Hurricane!
Have a GREAT Birthday, "Einstein"! I looked at 40 this way, it's all downhill from here, so we might as well just hold our hands up and enjoy the ride! (As if we're on a Roller Coaster - get your minds out of the gutter, people!)

I just saw a flock of Wild Turkeys high-tailing it away from Altoona. They looked raped and abused.
Happy Birthday Bob, I hope you got as smashed as our 21st birthday girl last night at Electric Avenue. She fell maybe 5 times... and that was just while she was onstage. Knocked my amp completely on the floor once. It's now 1:30pm on Sunday... she should be over that hangover in.... I'd say August 2007.

I agree Bill, Bobby doesn't look that old...I think music has is preserving qualities. There are a lot of older musicians that don't look that old. The only reason you look old Bill, is that you took a lot of time off from drumming..Hawk wrote:WOW ! Happy Birthday ! You don't look 40 at all.
(is it me, or does he look older than 40)

First, HAPPY BELATED 40TH BIRTHDAY BOB!!!
Second, the Hurricane Bob 40th birthday bash Sunday night at the Hitching Post was the wildest, craziest, most insane Hurricanes gig I've seen yet! A partying Hurricane Bob and Troy Earnest sharing war stories onstage, Hurricane Felix depicting legendary baseball players' batting and pitching stances, Hurricane Felix drafting one unsuspecting Professor to wail some kazoo on "Shout," plus happiness, debauchery, more happiness, more debauchery, smiles throughout the Hitching Post environs, good friends, good times and more. Kevin Siegel and Jeff Clapper held down the fort while the remaining Hurricanes and audience got wild and crazy!
This night really sent the message home to me that Hurricanes and Hurricaniacs aren't just entities connected by music, in the words of a Sister Sledge hit, "We Are Family!" And the neat thing is, that family can grow on any given night when new people discover the special good times and musical vibes the Hurricanes deliver on a given night!
Bottom line - DAMN, what a party!!!

Aaaah yes...I was smiling like an idiot all through Wally World!
What a BLAST, I've never laughed so much in my life!!! The most surreal part for me tonight was Barney Sledge, Kevin and Jeff. I wondered how they could keep on playing, especially Barney on Harmonica, through just about all of that wonderful madness? I'll never be able to figure that one out... Esa was even "Turkemcised". I'm still LMAO!
It was a night I'll never forget, THANK YOU to the entire "family"! If you missed it, you missed out and it really SUCKS to be you!

WOW, thanks everyone! What a weekend!
First off, thanks to Tim Kelly for the email for the moose gig, it really threw me. Felix asked Tim to email me about taking a gig for sidestep at the Altoona Moose today. As it turned out my fantastic wife has been planning this party for months and what a better way to get a musician to a place by telling them its a gig! Surprise!
I had no idea this was happening and surprises are the best!
All my old high school buds and family really made Hurricane a blubbering baby today. I was really hating the big 40 for the last couple weeks but today really changed my mind.
Bad Daze Rob, i owe you an apology for the other night as i was drunk and just lashing out, sorry dude, much respect to you also bro.
Thanks JP and Esa and Yankeerose for partying at the post with us tonite! was a blast!
And to Kevin for taking over drum duties so i could party!
I have been really in the dumps lately and the love of a great women, great friends and family is just what the doctor ordered!
Here's to my new life!
Thanks everyone!

Bob, you owe me no apology ... as soon as I saw you slurring your words I thought, WOO-HOO, Bobby had himself a little party tonight ... LOL.
You and your crew are some of the classiest people in this biz and you always have my support, respect and love ... and not in a gay way ... not that there's anything wrong with that.

I can't recall who it was from, but Mrs. Hurricane showed me birthday card with what appeared to be "Gay Saddam" on the front of it!
DENISE! Necie (Hope I'm spelling it right?)...I feel I'd be very remiss not to mention her, not only the 2 Joplin tunes, but "We Are Family", the first Funkage I'd ever heard the Hurricanes play...and the great Pirate memories that tune brought forth...Pops Stargell, Kent Tekulve and the '79 Series! F'd up? Ever so slightly,
but also a special, GROOVY night!
