I dont know what it is about the fans of the steelers. i can remember you liked neil O'donnel but then he threw the super bowl. out he goes. Then came Kordell Stewert he could do know wrong then he was a fag.Then Tommy Maddox was the man and now he sucks and then they trash his home. The real problem is cowher, get him out and get the one for the thumb. no i am not trashing the steelers just my opinion.

And I still stand behind the statement that Tommy Maddox hasn't been as good since his neck injury and that he never was as good as everyone said. Following Kordell made him look better.

HMMMMMMMmmmmmmm ..... Well, I never like O'donnel, I never liked Stewart. I always have and still do like Maddox. he is in my opinion one of the best back ups around. He just had a bad day, it happens. He isn't like stewart in the regard that you don't see him crying on the side line because he can't play a round. I do think that he will be going bye bye at he end of this season though ..

Cowher on the other hand is to bull headed. He let stewart suck, I mean at playing football now, for nine years before he finally did something .. He is a good coach. The players like him. I read somewhere that they were threatening to fire him, when the players found out about it they said they would all quit if he gets fired .. So maybe they are keeping him there because of how much the team likes him ..

Became the 15th head coach in Steelers history when he replaced Chuck Noll on Jan. 21, 1992.

In 1995, at age 38, he became the youngest coach to lead his team to a Super Bowl. Cowher is only the second coach in NFL history to lead his team to the playoffs in each of his first six seasons as head coach, joining Pro Football Hall of Fame member Paul Brown. During Cowher’s 20-year coaching career, teams he has been associated with have made the postseason 15 times.

Began his NFL career as a free-agent linebacker with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1979, and then signed with the Cleveland Browns the following year. Cowher played three seasons (1980-82) in Cleveland before being traded back to the Eagles, where he played two more years (1983-84).

Cowher began his coaching career in 1985 at age 28 under Marty Schottenheimer with the Browns. He was the Browns’ special teams coach in 1985-86 and secondary coach in 1987-88 before following Schottenheimer to the Kansas City Chiefs in 1989 as defensive coordinator.

Career record: 138-86-1.

Sorry Edgecrush, we aren't like the cowgirls who need to hire a new coach every 4 years. Cowher has done a great job and it's hard to win in the NFL. It's all about timing and you never know what's gonna happen. He's a franchise coach! What else can you say, it wouldn't be the same without him.

Quarterback Tommy Maddox has taken his share of criticism since his performance against the Jaguars, but one person who knows what it is like came to his defense on Wednesday.

“I think people need to realize that there were 45 mile an hour winds out there,” said fellow quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. “It was tough. A lot of those plays were not his fault. The wind was knocking the balls down. There was no way he should have gotten the criticism he did. I was trying to support him and let him know it definitely was not his fault.”

Roethlisberger didn’t talk to Maddox after the game, but he quietly offered his support to him, letting him know he was behind him.

“It’s hard. I consider myself a young guy and to talk to a veteran like that, what do you say to him,” said Roethlisberger. “He has had so much more experience than me. I just went up to him and patted him on the back and told him keep your head up. That’s all I can do.”
