Post by red »

I recieved this in an email today, what do you think?

How ironic is this??!! They don't even believe in Christ and they're getting their own Christmas stamp, but don't dream of posting the ten commandments on federal property?

USPS New Stamp

This one is impossible to believe.

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of PanAm
Flight 103!

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the World
Trade Center in 1993!

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the Marine
barracks in Lebanon!

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the military
barracks in Saudi Arabia!

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the American
Embassies in Africa!

REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the USS COLE!

REMEMBER the MUSLIM attack on 9/11/2001!

REMEMBER all the AMERICAN lives that were lost in those vicious MUSLIM attacks!

Now the United States Postal Service REMEMBERS and HONORS the
EID MUSLIM holiday season with a commemorative first class
holiday postage stamp.

REMEMBER to adamantly and vocally BOYCOTT this stamp
when purchasing your stamps at the post office.
To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those
AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors.

no offense.. and i hope none is taken - but you're doing excactly what most americans do.. you're LUMPING all muslims in with terrorists..

MUSLIMS.. are peaceful. if you'll read the koran and other historic texts you will realize that islam is one of the most peaceful religions in the world, certainly more peaceful than christianity - and judaism..

FANATICS are not muslims..

FANATICS bomb things..

And there are christian fanatics too - they blow up buildings like abortion clinics, federal buildings, and the olympics.. all for their OWN "RELIGIOUS" Closed-Minded purposes..

So Im sorry, I wont boycott the stamp - however i do agree with you.. If you're going to embrace one religion - you had better embrace them all. If you're going to make a stamp for islam - you better allow something christian on there.. however - I feel religion has NO PLACE in or on government property.. until they start paying taxes.. just my opinion.. i could be wrong..

I oppose this stamp on the grounds that, if the Ten Commandments are forbidden, so should this stamp also be forbidden. I'm most certainly not religious...but fair is fair, and I would stand with the conservatives on this one.
That said, this stamp will never happen. It's a powderkeg, and the "Moral Majority" will hit like lightning.--------->JMS

i actually agree with you songsmith - this is unfair - as long as there is a religion that is not embraced in this country (which is christianity - which i believe this is so because most people look at religion in the same light as race - which is in a word.. stupid. race is uncontrolable, religion is a mindframe, and a mental psyche which can change - i also think religion is a neurological psychosis, but we're not going there haha) i dont believe any religious stamp should come out..

like i said tho, religion has no place on government property to begin w/ in my place - whether it be christian, jewish, islamic, paegan, ect ect..

and this "Moral Majority" you speak of - do you mean the closed minded fools who consider morals to be nothing more than a belief in jesus christ, or the intelligent people of this society who see morals as more than religion, but an idea and concept of community, partnership, and togetherness - and not so much crucifixion, ressurection, and belief - let me know, and i'll give you my opinion on whether i believe this "Moral Majority" exists...

Tschau!

The Moral Majority was a political action group/slush fund back in the Reagan/Bush 1 era, led by the likes of Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell who railed against everything they didn't agree with, insisting that the world was coming to an end because it's a modern day Sodom and Gomorrha. (When Christ returns, it won't likely be at the insistence of a PAC group!) They spoke out against TV, Rock, rap, video games, anything they perceived as sinful. (Both Rush Limbaugh and Pat Robertson had popular daily TV shows at this time.) Well, except rampant capitalism... the moneychangers were okay in their temple. The MM did succeed in galvanizing the Conservative Christian voter base, and pretty much got Reagan re-elected, and Bush 1 elected... many of their leaders were exposed as tax cheats, embezzlers, money launderers, or just whacko's, but there's no denying their effect on American politics. They dropped the name when America grew tired of being condescended to, and fractured into smaller groups, but their power continues. nearly all conservative talk radio personalities claim a strong Christian faith, or at least equate morals with Christian morals.------>JMS
