Does any one remember this band from the late 60s.

Are you kidding???

South Dakota Farm was my inspiration for playing in a rock and roll band. I remember this guy playing a 12 string rickenbacker and playing byrds songs just like the record!! It turns out that guy was Andy Rhody, who later played with me and my brother Tim in "Fantasy Airlift". I consider Andy to be one of my very best friends.

Andy, you are on here from time to time....

Chime in!!

I just got this from Kenny Pompa.

yo john,

was just lookin at the rockpage and saw someone wanted
to know about the south dakota farm. That was my brother
Frank's band, and i took jim urine's place on bass when i got
out of the navy in '70. When Frank joined the Navy, we picked up Fran Litzinger on lead, andy on rhythm, me on bass, my cousin dave (boogs) as the lead singer, mike zalisnock on drums, and we later picked up mike dillon on
keyboards. Don't know who the zman is, and i couldn't write
cause i'm not a member of rockpage, but if you have his email, you can forward this to him or give him my email addr
if he wants to know more about it. kpompa@pennswoods.net
keep rockin!!

I'd like to thank Andy, Kenny and Mike (South Dakota Farm)(Boogs couldn't make it) for coming to my Mom's 87th birthday party. It was great to see Andy and Kenny do a couple of songs together. I guess the last time they played together it was 30+ years ago. I would also like to thank Ryan Gallagher from Falling Higher and last but not least but ALWAYS LATE Rick Ramsey.

Yeah, "The South Dakota Farm" my High School band! Life was so easy then. Easy to get bookings, easy to get big crowds, with the wave of the "Baby Boom", lots of good looking chicks. We had 237 people in our graduating class. Now CH graduates only a little over 100.

John: Thanks for the positive press and the Rick's still ready to go.

Tom (ZMAN): It was an honor to play for your Mom and she was real good to us when we practiced in your basement 37 years ago.

And "MO": great jammin with ya as usual. I'll dance with you and your banjo anytime.
