HOMER'S ARMY - Keith Steps Down - A New Soldier Comes Online

Post by homerski »

Well, I guess it’s time to let the cat out of the bag. One of the founding members of “Homer’s Army”, my nephew Keith Homerski has left the band. All of his hard work, enthusiasm and exquisite musical talent will be sorely missed. Like so many of us, he has finally been forced to get a job, and his new job was seriously interfering with his true love, making music.

We did an exhaustive search for someone to replace (replace is just not the right word, but I can’t think of any other word right now) Keith.

In the interim, my good friend Jeff Leeper was nice enough to help us out. Jeff, I can’t thank you enough!!!

In the end, by contacting a friend of a friend of a friend, we contacted this guy. Here’s his musical resume:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Instrument(s):
Electric & Acoustic Guitars, Vocals

Experience(s):
Started performing at age 16 (29 Years of Rock Experience)

FOH (Front of House) engineer for the SRA “Southern Rock Allstars” (Jakson Spires – Blackfoot, Dave Hlubek & Jimmy Farrar – Molly Hatchett, Mike Estes – Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jay Johnson – Rossington Band, Ace Allen - Marshall Tucker, Charles Hart – Radio Tokyo) 1997 – 2003

Engineered the “Alabama Music Hall of Fame Show” in 2002 featuring Martha & the Vandellas, Wet Wille, Jim Nabors, and others

Engineered final mixes and performed on SRA’s recording “Danger Road”

Performed as a guest musician with the Southern Rock Allstars from 2003-2005

Recorded with Jimmy Johnson (One of the original Muscle Shoals Swampers)

Performed on recording “Spirit of the Black Rose”, tribute to Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy)

Owner of production company “White Lightning Audio”

Owner of publishing company “JMSX2”, member of ASCAP

Also performed with Exit 5, Renegade, Alliance, Highway Riders, 54 Steps

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Was real sorry to hear about Keith leaving the Army. The " KID " has a great amount of talent just like his dad and uncle. He sure made me sound good on the recordings. :D From what Mike says about Jimmy he
is a great replacement for the band. Can't wait to see you guys again. Will be away this weekend though. I'm sure we'll see Keith making guest appearences hopefully!!!!!!!!! You guys always ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
