I went last night - great, great, show...as always. This was the second time on this tour that I saw them (Mushroomhead/Dope). I saw them in Pittsburgh at the Rex a month or so ago and I wasn't going to miss them at the Crowbar. I got to hang out with them (Mushroomhead) first hand in Geneva, Oh when Lost Ledny played with them. They are a great bunch of guys. What they give back to the crowd is rare in the music world today.

As always, Dope has one killer stage show. So much energy and Edsel is a tru frontman. His witty, on-liner jokes as so damn funny. That was pretty impressive how the drummer from Nocturn had only 24 hours to learn Dope's set to help fill in. Dope's drummer had to return hom due to a family emergency. So this young kid learned the song, filled the spot and was right on, nailing EVERYTHING. Congrats to him!

I would have to agree that Dope sucks! Plus, the singer is a complete cock-bag that needs punched in the mouth.

Mushroom head are cool though, I opened for them once at crowbar, killer show and super nice guys. As far as Dope goes, I would save my money, they blow, and manson-wannabe is a real dick in person.

I thought Dope Kicked Ass! Their performance was better than mushroomhead in my perspective. They entertained and went nuts! And Edsel doesn't want to be Manson, not even close... Mushroomhead were too big for the stage! 8 of them with equipment on stage. Only a couple of them got to move around. I could barely see the drummer at all. Their new masks weren't that great either, looked like aliens from a B movie.

I avoided them like the plague, and props for not playing that lame song.

I talked to Goody, he said they needed to start pushing newer stuff and that they are sick of playing seatbelt every show. I thought it was cool that they didn't also.

OUCH! I'd be careful Matt. Like em' or not B.S.L is probably the most accomplished unsigned band in PA. These guys have paid their dues over and over and over again. There original music kicks-ass (and the thousands of cd sales would prove that) and their touring schedule is relentless to say the least. These guys have been doing this for at least a decade now and slowly but surely climbing that ladder to success. I guess playing the Rolling Rock Town Fair, winning the best band in PA, opening for too many nationals to mention and traveling around the country in their own tour bus playing damn near every night of the week may not be impressive to you, but, obviously they're doing something right.

Sorry Matt, but I gotta defend my buds here, when L.L. accomplishes a quarter of what B.S.L. has then maybe I'd justify the insult. Good luck.

Ah, you gotta love it when someone who has very limited success or perhaps NONE AT ALL gets on here and decides to badmouth everyone else who has, without having enough decency to give respect where respect is due. Luckily, for the most part we support each other here in our music scene, but I guess there's always a couple bad apples.

I'm sure your opinion matters though, I'm also sure that B.S.L (or anyone else) really gives two shits. Keep flippin' those burgers boys, maybe one day you'll be a rock star and people might actually care what you think. Until then maybe you should take in a few more B.S.L. shows to TAKE SOME LESSONS.

How many names does this guy have? First blood empire, then chaos, now spellboundbymetal? Is there any way to get his IP and ban him that way? I'm pretty sure that i'm not the only one here who is sick and tired of hearing how he's going to set the world on fire with his music, that is if his mom will give him a ride to band practice.

Jim, I respect you more than any of the guys in B.S.L. and thier originals do kick ass. Last time I went to see them B.S.L. they played Wild Thing, and a M. Jackson cover of Billie Jean that sounded like the original and a bunch of other stuff that just made me sick to my stomach to watch B.S.L. perform. If you have to do covers to keep your schedule at least do something that your original music will go along with instead of straight out going to a party band from a metal act. I went to see B.S.L. to hear thier new originals and looked forward to thier show all week long. I didn't hear them play one the entire night. I also heard they played 90% covers opening for a national act last spring. And jim, I think L.L. does have a quarter of what they accomplished. Not trying to pick a fight here but I lost alot of respect for B.S.L.'s music.

Matt,

I see you as a freind, we've shared many a stage together, and no dis-respect here, but c'mon man, bashing these guys on rock page isnt right. B.S.L. took us on a mid-west tour with them when we had stept on together because they wanted to help us out. They didn't have to, they just did. They always were more than willing to help out any other band they could, and if anyone deserves to go big time it's these guys. They have no attitude and will sit down and drink a shot with you just like anyone else.

You're entitled to whatever opinion you may have and that's fine, but these guys are my friends too, so obviously I'm gonna back em'. Bashing them on a public forum just doesn't look good. No hard feelings Matt, but sometimes I gotta call it out on here. Peace.

Matt, I quess I lost my cool a little too much with that last post. Just rubbed me the wrong way. Anyway, no problem man, we're cool. BTW you'll be hearing from "MY TURNING POINT" hopefully in the next couple months, we're going into the studio soon. (Maybe I need more anger management classes :) )
