Recording Monitor Room Compensation

Post by Mackovyak »

I'm trying to adjust my studio monitors for my new place.

Unfortunately, I have to place my console in a corner, however the manual shows the "corner" setup for a monitor that's placed flush in a corner.

The compensation switches are for

"Free field" & "Wide Wall" - Definately not.

or

"Narrow Wall" or "Corner" - Unsure.

I'll have to run some reference cd's that I made when working down at the studio in Fort Lauderdale, but just curious on anyone's thoughts..

Your corner configuration doesn't theoretically match any of those settings. In a case like this, I think I'd get my favorite, well-mastered CD and try each setting to see which one sounds best.

Yeah, that's today's game.

I really don't think the settings change that much....-04db on the low end max. I think it's more of knowing your system, so I'll be breaking out the collection today.
