Dope/Mushroomhead!

Post by JayBird »

Just saw them both this past Saturday at the Rex Theatre. It's the Freedom for All Tour. Anyone with a valid military i.d. gets in for free! Anyway, Dope puts on one of the best live shows I've seen to date. It's a non-stop light and kick ass music show. So, I thought that after Dope it couldn't get better...well those Mushroomhead guys...what can I say! They have brand new masks that glow in the dark from the black lights set up all over the stage. Stith has headphones to go along with his mask that add a crazy look to his overall outfit. This is a tour worth checking out. I found 5 guitar pics after the show. Mushroomhead damn newr gave their whole set away after the show...well not actually, but they slapped hands, gave out stage towels, drum sticks, picks, about eight set lists, etc. Great bunch of guys!

This show was absolutely amazing! I like Mushroomhead more and more everytime I see them!

I was plesantly surprised by Dope. I had heard of them, but not ever actually heard them and I thought their show was awesome too. A very tight band with a great frontman and visuals.

The bar at the Rex stayed open after the show and while I was hanging out in there after the show, several band members from all 3 bands (Nocturne, yuck) were in there talking to people. I hung out with Waylon for a few minutes and spoke breifly to the "chick" from Nocturne.

I can't wait until this tour hits State College in September, I am all over it!

Never let it go!

Nocturne...I agree...what a joke! It pisses me off to see how many shitty bands get great opportunities to play with some of todays bigger bands. Nocturne actaully has four albums out. I can't believe someone actually fronted them money to release one album, let alone four.

I can't believe they've been together long enough to record one album let alone four, I thought for sure they had only been together for about a year....I've heard bands with teenagers that were tighter than they were.
