"Icarus Witch" anyone?

Post by Bag »

Anyone seen or heard this band from Pittsburgh? My friend John Passerrelli (ex Bashful & Big Bang Theory) is their new drummer. Congratz John! :D
John said that they have a Germany trip coming up soon. From the sound clips, they sound a little like Maiden or Priest. Anyone know more about this band?
Here's the link... (BTW, John is on the far right in the band pic)

Wow, that is great news. I have Icarus Witch's 5-song CD, and it is excellent. It features great traditional metal vocals & some fantastic guitar work. Instrumentally, it reminds me a bit of Iced Earth. I have been waiting anxiously for their full-length CD to be released. I wonder if John will be playing on the full-length - I hope so.

I remember reading the liner notes for the CD and Eric Klinger is the producer. Is this the same guy who played guitar for local band Blackout?

John played some samples of their stuff when I ran into him this past weekend. What I heard sounded good, sort of a Priest/Maiden/Dream Theater style; the singer is in his teens, and his vocals remind me a little of Halford, with a grittiness reminiscent of Tim Aymar (of Triple X fame). I look forward to hearing more from them.

Little you know, we did have an Eric Klinger in Blackout for about a year, he was Robbie's brother. He left the band shortly after getting married. If you would have come around during those days you would have known that. No pun intended.

I saw you guys at the San Bar a couple of times when he was with ya! Like you said, he wasn't with ya that long so I sorta forgot being that you guys only had Eric S. for so many years.

My bad 313, you were right! Woops!
