Hard to find cd's..

Post by RAM Z »

I was wonder'n if anyone knew where you could find hard to get cd's?
I've been look'n for stuff like....

Dirty Looks
T.N.T
Wrathclild
Savatage
Stealheart

That's just to name a few off the top of my head!
I have about 500 tapes and let's face it they're sort of a thing of the past now! I just wish there was a way to get them burnt to cd's though,or is there a way and I just don't know about it yet? It took many years to aquire my collection of tapes and I'm quite proud of it! It's pretty cool when someone asks me to look through them and they usually don't even make it through the first layer or two and every time I hear the same thing" HOLY SHIT DUDE! I can't belive ya have this ! Man I haven't heard that in years!" Of course I'm sure some of the music I have in my collection has never made it to cd but, I would like to know!

Any help would be great! 8)

I'll let you in on an inside secret:
www.dvdempire.com

I've seen some T.N.T. and Savatage on there. It's not perfect, though. A girl that I work with was looking for a Tyketto CD for her boyfriend, and I couldn't find it on there.

Anyways, they're in Warrendale (about 20 miles north of downtown 'burgh).

You can also call Backstreet Records in Indiana, as well. He tends to get some hard to find stuff.

Since TNT’s career has been sporadic, at best, I suppose that I should ask which one you are looking for. They just released one 2004, which most people are unaware of.

You’re probably looking for the CD with “10,000 Lovers”, aren’t you? There are some great instrumentals on that CD.

I'm guessing Dave at Data Music Services could put tapes onto cds. Don't know what the cost would be though.

All of those bands were signed to major labels, but the titles have long been deleted. Therefore, you simply are not likely to find them in your local CD store racks. With a little patience and an ebay account you can score CDs from any of the above artists for $5 to $10. The exceptions are several of Dirty Looks privately pressed releases (such as "Rip it Out" and "InYourFace") , Wrathchild America's "Climbin' the Walls", and Savatage's "From the Gutter to the Stage" (all of which can be had for closer to $25 each). Hope that helps.

I almost forgot that Wrathchild changed their name to Wrathchild America. I have Climbin’ The Walls (on cassette) somewhere.

If you have a cassette player, computer with a sound card, some adapter cables and a lot of disc space, then you can use the sound card to capture a cassette source to wav files. Windows comes with the recording software.
You can then burn the wav files to CD with a burner. There are dozens of CD burners on the market for less than $25.
... and then the wheel fell off.

First of all, let me say T.N.T. is a highly underrated band. They totally kick ass. As for their 2004 release, it's titled My Religion. I have it and love it from front to back. I also have Intuition and I'm looking into getting Tell No Tales, which has 10,000 Lovers, etc. Look on Amazon.com for these CDs too. I know for a fact they have all three of the above mentioned discs.
Hey Kev...we had many a conversation about T.N.T., didn't we?

Word!

Unfortunately, the market really sucked for these European slut metal bands in the very early 90s.

I’ve heard a few tracks off of the latest one and, yes, I would agree that it was very good.

Yes. I have their Screwed, Blued, and Tattooed disc on CDR. Another great band. Trying to get HF1 to do Stranger Than Paradise. I love that song.

I think had T.N.T. came out sooner, they would have been just as big as any other band from the time. Unfortunately, the majority of their albums came out in the late 80's and into the 90's, so they never really got a chance to show their talent before 80's hair died out.

I like TNT too, but they had two albums out before 80's hair ever really got rolling. Their debut was released in 81 or 82 and Knights of the New Thunder about a year or so after that. Perhaps they were too early rather than too late?

I think that it has something to do with the overseas vibe. For whatever reason, a lot of non U.S. bands either had a terrible time or sparkled and faded quickly. Other than T.N.T. and Tyketto, some others that came to mind are:
Loudness
EZO
Shotgun Messiah
Etc…

I just dug through some of my tapes and found myself in a riptide of memories! Man, I really did enjoy the 80's and the rock that was made then! 8)

Hey Bert ya were right 10,000 Lovers (in one) is the one I have!
T.N.T. ,Tell No Tells awsome vocals and that killer 80's guitar! I like Everyone's A Star, just about any song with the "Talk Box" in it I like.
BTW ,I was go'n to mention Loudness. I have Hurricane Eyes.

Victor Synn ,I would love to hear HF1 do "Stranger Than Paridise" I too love that song and I'm sure you guy's would do it great! I have never had the chance to see you guys but heard great things! I sure would love to see you guys play I've heard it's quite the show. :D

I have the Screwed Blued And Tattooed cd but, it kinda got bitched up in a car crash once! Damn it. :(

Here's a couple more ya may have forgotten about...
Tora Tora
Brother Cane
Lillian Axe
Junkyard
Leatherwolf
Tangeir
Bad 4 Good , which was produced ,arranged, and engineered by Steve Vai. They came out in the early 90's not many people have ever heard of them but, they totally ROCKED! The vocals are a little young sound'n but, that is because they were only kids at the time! The guitars on that album were great ,of course they were, they had the master Vai help'n em! The drum work was great also! I think those guys were around 13 to 16 years old when they made Refugee and I don't know if they even had another album after that? Does anyone remember them and if ya do what ever happened to em? If ya ever see Refugee pick it up you won't be sorry!
I love the song "Terminate"! Those guys should have been huge!

Thanx alot Curt Cobain you were around just long enough to kill the real music! Not that I didn't love some of what came out of the Grunge scene , but look at todays music there isn't many bands out there now you can even understand what the hell they're say'n! Sorry I'm just a child of the 80's and truly miss all of the great vocals and killer guitars! Man, those where the day's! Remember the say'n " SEX, DRUGS, AND ROCK"N F*#K'N ROLL" what the hell ever happened to that? Now everything is about hate ,kill'n and my mom kicked my ass when I was little so that's why I'm the way I am! I like some of the newer music but ,I just can't can't get into the I hate everyone and everything attitude of todays youth, but it sure is fun watch'n some of my younger counterparts bang'n their heads to stuff like Kix and Dirty Looks of which they are required to listen too when they are at my place! It's pretty cool turn'n these guys onto 80's metal. They mostly love it and never knew some of it was that freak'n cool or even existed! I try to do what I can to keep it all alive!

Jeez, this kinda makes me feel a little old and I'm only 30! Music will always remind me of all those good ol' days. Thank God fer Rock'n Roll ! :D

I just got Agents of Oblivian in the mail today. Not as good as Acid bath but it's worth the $20 i got it for. I suggest it to anyone who likes the deeper and darker side to such bands as AIC which I like to compare them to. Very mellow and ambient music that creates a different atmosphere than their later work as Acid bath.
