Post by RAM Z »

Has anyone ever seen Chris Angel perform his brand of illusion?
If ya have you know this guy is freak'n good!
Hell he even has his own metal band!
I was just wonder'n who everyone thinks is the better Illusionist,
David Blaine or Chris Angel?
Sure David can levitate but ,Chris can walk up the side of a wall !

There is go'n to be a special on A&E wed. july 20th at 10pm feature'n Chris Angel ,so if ya haven't seen this cat ,tune into the show and I'll bet you'll be totally amazed and maybe even a little creeped out about how freak'n good this dude is!!!

Man I totally dig magic even though ya know it's not real......or is it ?

I like Blaine... I'll have to tape that Chris dude. I always loved magic and illusions. The coolest thing I ever got to do was be "magic assistant" to my Advisor in college. We had a wopping class of 6 and anytime the man learned a new trick, he'd try it out on me (I have a nack for catching how to do this)...and I got sawed. It was the coolest thing in the world.

And we did Madrigal at the Mount every year...one year we had a Romanian (oohhh...I still delightfully shiver over this guys' voice) who did the Blain things...He burned cards into his arms, pulled string from his skin, levitated...creepy, but cool. He was never invited back after a few incidents...but I'd love to see his act again. If it scared the bejesus out of Mad Mary (prez of the school) then, it had to be good!!!!!!

Did I mention I love magic!?!

esa , if you love magic and David Blaine ,you will be blown away by Chris Angel. :D

I saw his last special and I was kinda freaked out a little but,I was truly amazed at this dudes talent! I won't spoil any surprises for ya! You just have to see for yourself to get the full effect of it.

We used to have a guy around my neck of the woods who would go around and perform magic tricks like throw'n a deck of cards against a window from one side and your card would show up on the other! He could also put a quarter in a beer bottle. 8)

Our drummer used to do magic shows and he can do the burn'n card and arm thing, (which still puzzels me whenever I see him do it) and also some cool tricks with rope! He has quite a few cool tricks up his sleeve so to speak but, he only ever shows ya one or two at a time! Just enough to make ya scratch yer head and wonder how in the hell he did it!

I totally love magic also and can't ever see enough! It makes me like a little kid all over again every time I see even the simple tricks that you can pick up on! :D

I'm all set to tape this. I can't wait. Very very excited.
I wish they'd bring back the magic specials they used to have on a monthly basis.
It seems like they slowed down after the whole Zigfried and Roy tiger incident...

I just watched a show again on A&E this sunday about the history of magic and all of the old performers and loved it !! They must be get'n people ready for the Chris Angel thing. It says in the commercial that it is a new series!! Man I hope so ,but it's more than likely it'll just be that one show and they won't have another one for a year! Damn it anyway.

BTW,It must have been cool as hell to have someone saw ya in half!! I've never been to a real life full blown magic show but , I sure would love to get my kids into it ! I'm sure they would love it and I know I would fer sure!! 8)

I did a search on Limewire, found his show Supernatural. It's like 41 minutes long without commercials. Very interesting stuff. It is freaky though at times...

Doesn't it seem that the more freaky, the scarrier, the wayyyyyyy out there the magic is...the more you wanna see it?!!? I think the more controversy, the better.

Did you ever see the show they had going (I think it was on after Ghost Hunters)..they called themselves THEM. Totally something Extreme Magic. It was pretty cool. The one I never really figured out was, this guy walked through glass to get into a club. So, unless they're doing tricks with the cameras, not a clue.

Alain Nu is another awesome new magician to hit the scene. His stuff is less physical and more mental.

I have'nt heard of Alain Nu yet but ,I'll keep my eyes out!! I love see'n new magicians . :D

I 'm not sure, but does David Blaine do full blown shows or just street magic ? Chris does do large shows with all the theatrics that magic should have and also his very own metal band play's all the music!!
How cool is that ? That's part of the reason for this post also! :D

Hey Rob, was there any of his music or links to any of it on the site ya found? I can't remeber it too well now cause it's been awhile since his last show on t.v.! I think it's kinda a techno Trent Reznor, Rob Zombie Type of sound, but like I said, it has been awhile though! 8)

Honestly, I've only ever seen him do street magic. I'm not saying that he doesn't...but...I've just never seen it. So I'm guessing no. In suncoast, they have his dvd. Check it out if ya wanna...it might tell you.
And he has a band??? Coolness!

And I'll have to keep an eye out for Nu. What do you mean, mental? Like, "guess the card"?

Have you guys ever seen the dude that's really good with pick pocketing? He can take suspenders off people...watches...pick em dry! Awesome slight of hand.

Watched this last night, and it was pretty cool. It makes me wanna go to Vegas and see him perform. A few tricks I figured out somewhat, but others I was totally amazed.

Am I the only one that thinks his mom looks incredible for 70 years young?
So you gonna take me back to your room and play with me?

I saw the show ,pretty cool I guess but too much fluff not enough magic, and I thought his levitations looked a little hokie, when blain does it it's brief and he's off balance etc... ( looks real) BUT Angel just flew sorta superman like and I didn't buy it as much.

Yeah, most of the levitations from behind looked like one of the crossed legs was fake and he had one of his legs up on something (the step on the escalator, the chair in the restaurant...) The levitations from the front, he didn't have a lot of people around, so it made me think he might have been harnessed or something.

I liked the garbage can trick. Oh and the ring in the ice cube.

He is pretty hot too, but I bet he doesn't have the keys to a Cherokee. Gotta have the Jeep to get Hot RockPage Vixens.
So you gonna take me back to your room and play with me?

Cool. That always makes me wonder....
David Copperfield? Or something like that. He always did fantastic magic.

I wish I knew who it was (I have it taped somewhere)...he did his magic with a bed spring puppet...it was like a raccoon.. Stuff the hand up it's butt to make it move....but the end trick he'd get fleas involved...they'd throw cards up in the air from some ladies (audience) purse...then the racoon would launch himself from magicians arm...fly through the cards and land in his pet carrier...and be holding the card the lady thought of. That was pretty cool. I want those fleas...and that raccoon.

A lot of what Criss Angel does is "Illusion" and to me there's a difference between an Illusionist and a Magician. Sleight of Hand,
i.e., card tricks, sawing in half,
pulling strings out of skin, etc.,
are traditional "MAGIC" to me.
Removing watches and wallets, there's "skill" involved with that, not necessarily LEGAL! Finding a person's favorite movie they're thinking of, that's more to do with e.s.p. - to me that is Magic, even moreso, as there's no "trick" involved. Do you think Angel could do the "big production" illusions without aid of tv cameras? Was it Penn & Teller who showed all the "secrets" a few years back? Traitors, but they are self-depracating and funny as hell. Most of it is common sense, but they ruined other stuff for me. It's still fun to watch though, even knowing how it's done. If you've ever gone to a Renaissance Faire, the roaming Magicians as in days of yore, they are so great to see and VERY skilled!

Pretty cool hey! Too bad it was mostly levitations though. He has way cooler stuff than that up his sleeve! Next wed., there is another show on and maybe this time he'll do more of his slight of hand stuff or other styles of Illusions like fall'n through a mud puddle in the road! This stuff is what ya want to make of it, some belive ,some don't. This is a new "series"on A&E so stay tuned, I'm sure there is some real freaky stuff to come!

I personally belive in magic, must just be the kid in me or the "beans" but, I belive in aliens, Heaven & Hell ,and the after life a little bit too and there's no real proof they're real either, right ? Who knows? Sometimes it's good to be amazed without rack'n your brain to figure out how someone did a trick, that's part of the fun,so just show me more is what I say! I totally dig any form of magic, even more so when it's paired with rock'n 'n' roll ! :D

Criss (not "Chris",sorry!) has a total of 5 cds of his own, which he produces and writes all the music for! I'm not sure if they're out yet anywhere but if ya get a chance, check it out ! Some of his stuff is done with well known artists and I'm not fer sure but, was that the singer from "Korn" at the end of the show when they were show'n clips from the studio? He was the dude stand'n at the mixer with the blueish green shirt on. I don't know but, it sure looked like em! 8)

Here's a link to his official site if ya wanna find out more about em......

How do ya get a image on here? I found a couple of cool optical illusions you all might enjoy!

P.S. , how do ya get the avatars on here ? I found some good ones but it keeps say'n they're too big. They are actual avatars for forums but,I don't understand how to shrink em a little to make em work on here or if you can do that? Any help would be great! :D 8)
