Progressive Rock Bands Website

Post by moxham123 »

Check out this great website with progressive rock bands. Lots of cool stuff about Dream Theater, Queensryche, Rush, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Yes, King Crimson, Moody Blues, Gentle Giant, Kansas, Styx, Saga, Emerson, Lake, & Palmer, Asia, Genesis, UK and many more.

Here is another great prog band site: http://www.insideoutmusic.com/

A lot of newer bands, along with a lot of audio and video downloads.

Wow! That is a lot of Prog bands. I wish I had the time to check even half of them out! Although... the site you listed Ron, says that they just now welcomed King's X to the site. I woulda thought they would've been one of the first couple dozen prog bands listed.

They are also a record label, and Kings X just signed with them on June 16th. That's the reason for the welcome.

Hey! Kent from Grimm here...a question fer ya: Do you think most people hate progressive rock because it's CALLED progressive rock? How many Tool fans do you think realize that they're into a prog rock band?

p.s. You guys into Porcupine Tree at all? They're kind of like Yes meets Radiohead...saw 'em in Philly back in May...great show!

I just bought Porcupine Tree's Deadwing; excellent!

Also for you Kansas fans, check out Proto-Kaw, Kerry Livgren's reunion of the second Kansas line-up from the early 70's (before the third incarnation of Kansas, which hit it big). Their latest album is Before Became After; it's similar to the first three Kansas albums with more improvisation and jazz-styled fusion. They're supposed to release a new studio album in the fall. Their website is www.protokaw.com.

I saw Porcupine Tree live at the Bryce Jordan when they opened up for Yes. We had great seats (thanks Jason) , and PT was excellent.
