Allman Brothers Show

Post by YankeeRose »

I've been impatiently waiting to
see if someone else would Post,
but I just can't wait any longer!
Two words: """SOUL SHINE""" I talked to someone who said they most likely weren't going to go because the forecast called for rain...well, by the end of the show, the clouds had cleared, stars were shining and later, while
travelling along the river, it
was so awesome to see the moon shining above the Incline with the
paddle boats below...beautiful!
It didn't rain a drop at the show.
Of course, Altoona was in the throes of a monsoon upon returning and on my drive home! :-) That's okay, the concert was GREAT, I was so happy to just BE there! My trip down the mountain started with a flat tire :(, the patient people I went with had to backtrack twice, the first time to find one's lost ticket, the second to try to find the other's lost Prescription
glasses (I hope you found them, Brian!), but I didn't mind, as I figured we'd get there when we got there...and we got there in PLENTY of time. :-) Moe was "most excellent", but during the Allman Brothers Band portion of the concert, there was such great Energy all around (NO, it wasn't just "beans"!) and it did my heart and Soul good to see so many younger people "into" the music and singing along...during "Soul Shine" especially...mere
words cannot express! :-)
Friends who are newlyweds, dancing during "Melissa" brought a tear to my eye...the ULTIMATE slow dance, played for them by the ABB!!! "Jessica", what a jam that was, during it they broke into a few
chords of "Norweigan Wood" by The Beatles, which I immediately noticed and loved. (Joe bought the "Instant Live" concert and I've got to get a copy, even if it's just cassette. I have last year's 3 cd set.) I danced through almost the entire ABB show! WHEW, what a DAMN good time! My feet and neck are barking at me today, but eh, it was worth it. Maybe I'll dance more tonight to work through the pain? ;-) (I did INDEED!) It was NOT the same show as last year, that's for sure! On the way to find the vehicle I'd arrived in, while talking to people I didn't even know, they said "Blue Sky" would have been cool, because of the way the weather had cleared, but I remarked what had kept going through my mind was "Back Where It All Begins"..."moon rise, sun go down, turn my whole world around, little star up in the sky...". :-) If you love the ABB music and have never experienced a show, Gregg said they WILL "be back". I'm already looking forward to it. :)

A song lasting longer than sex???
Ew. I've heard tell there's pills for that. Besides, there's a LOT more to sex/making love than Coitus and if it doesn't last longer than a song, there's something seriously wrong within the relationship. A "quickie"... ah, the long version of "Inagaddadavidda", every now and again, is okay. However, couples also need to make the time and take the time. (Just think of me as a "caring nurturer", ala "Stuart Smalley"!)

Peace,
