BAR - B - Q ...
OK I'm stealing the thunder from another post but I thought it was a GREAT idea, we should select a location .. ( Park etc ... ) and have a BAR - B-Q , we could all bring a covered dish and our favorite meats and beverages.. YES ... This idea is GOOD.. Chime in , lets discuss.
I'm glad I didn't have to fight in a war, I'm glad I didn't get killed or kill somebody, I hope my kids enjoy the same lack of manhood

I don't remember where I found it, It's hard to tell. The pic was much more clear but I had to reduce it to use it as an avatar.

I was at a picnic once when I saw a vagrant sleeping behind the porta-johns. I slowly walked up, took my makeshift hotdog cooking stick, and pierced him between the ribs, straight through the heart. He didn't make a peep. He gasped and rolled over, trying to focus on me through his glazed-over eyes. As I watched his final knee-jerk reactions, I thought to myself "I wonder what Bobby Lee's doin' today?".
... and then the wheel fell off.

I had
I had a similar story but was going to save it until the bbq where I planned to tell it live and in person. see we were at Glendale cookin some burgers when a guy approached and asked us for a bite said he hadn't eaten in awhile, I winked at my buddy and said "hell yeah man I can hook you up but I need to get more burger from the cooler which is in the trunk of my car" "come on you can gimme a hand I exclaimed" when we got to my car I opened thr trunk and leaned in grabbing my tire iron I swiftly turned and pummeled him up side his temple like a champ, THUD he hit the deck lights out !! then I threw him over my shoulder and took him to the water's edge splashed him a little until he came to, he looked at me with absolute horror in his eyes and said " hey man it's cool , it's cool" Damn right it's cool " I said as I pushed his face under the water, after like 30 seconds I pulled his head up and he began to scream something but I didn't wait I just shoved it in again this time holding it for atleast 5 minutes, which was about 3 minutes after all the struggling had stopped, then I kicked him and said "look pal I'm all about charity but I can't be giving a burger to everyone who happens to walk onto my picnic!"
I'm glad I didn't have to fight in a war, I'm glad I didn't get killed or kill somebody, I hope my kids enjoy the same lack of manhood

Im up for it. As you can see by my large stature, im up for anything that involves food and beer.
I can imagine what that place is gonna look like afterwards tho, between the beans, bobby lee's victims, pastries, and flyers that will be all over the place... Not to mention the other necessity for any BBQ...you guessd it, BEER. Definitly need some music too, ill do some music, it'll suck, but as you get drunk, ill sound better. Just point out bobby to me so i dont ask him for a burger...

Oh sure,
pick 08-07, the last
"official" day of the Hoedown for the RockPage Pick-A-Nick. It's not "really" the last day of the Hoedown, by any means...if you can stay Sunday night - last year, when all the Acoustic players started, Lord it was awesome! Plus, last year, I was there POSSIBLY until Tuesday, if I remember correctly...
yeah, I'm pretty sure!
'sides, the only "Glendale" I ever visited and it was years ago, was the Year Round place...I'd have no idea where the heck it was even at. Glendale Dam sounds like a public area...doesn't anyone live in the "boonies", where nobody would MIND a little noise AND beer? Just a thought for y'all!

Glendale is no alcohol, since it is a state park. You could find a secluded picnic table perhaps, but trouble if any rangers pick up on it...
Aug. 14 is better for me, although I'll have to choose between the picnic and "Celebration of Neighborhoods" at Heritage Plaza. Live "Backyard Rocker" guests that evening, too, so I would have to cut out early. Aug. 21 would work even better.
Of course, it dawns on me that last summer at this time, we were discussing a Rockpage outdoor jam at the Railroaders' Museum. Maybe if we put the two ideas together...?

I like where this is going!
I'm down for a jaming/picnic session!

Le sigh,.. Aug 21st wouldn't work for us cuz we're going down south. Maybe instead of a sunday, we could do it on a weekday... sure most of us would have work the following day....but what's a little over partying and not enough sleep for a good time for once.
Orrrrrr... ::grins evilly:: You guys can all show up at the ABATE Poker Run party. It's a benefit... (for two sets of kids)... all the beer and food you can eat.... and it's been proven the last few years that Musicians and bikers do get along!!! That's July 30th. Best part? If you drink too much, bring a tent or sleep in your car. It's an over nighter!!!!!!!! $15 will get you in at the gate... or if you decide to go on the run, it's $15 a person, $25 a couple... $15 at the gate reguardless of single or couple. Come out and party Rock Pagers! Beyond Reason and The Amplified Heet are playin' it too!
