With maybe the exception of the Desperados, they probaly have one of the largest repertoires around. Either way, it beats playing in your bedroom and flaming guys who have way much more experience than you.

"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

The Hurricanes are one of few bands I never get tired of seeing, because their shows are NEVER identical. They don't use a set list, they are spontaneous and can adjust their song repertoire to accommodate audience moods and preferences, and are versatile enough musicians to adjust to any situation on a given night, including accommodating musical guests. As far as song selection, I've heard everything from Chuck Berry and the Righteous Brothers to Los Lonely Boys to Black Sabbath, Dire Straits, Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, to Southern rock canons like Lynyrd Skynyrd and yes, the ALLMAN Brothers at Hurricanes shows, not to mention plenty of the group's own wide-ranging original songs. "All the same" and boring...I don't think so! And if watching Felix and Dick (and any number of other guitar players who might join them on any given night) burn the fretboards on "Green Grass and High Tides" is boring, check your pulse to see if you haven't died recently.
And although I wasn't there for the entire night this past Thursday, I didn't hear a single Allman Brothers tune during the time I was there (during the third set), and I heard the 'Canes break out Badfinger's "No Matter What" for the first time.
I've also seen this band do two shows in the same day, and not repeat a single song between the two shows. Again, "all the same"...I don't think so.
Obviously this person hasn't been to very many Hurricanes shows. And evidently wasn't paying a whole lot of attention to the shows, either...the fuckin shows are all the same! who you kiddin? same lame allmond bros! BOOOORING!

Why is it , you think , that all the Rockpagers have Felix's back?
We respect and genuinely like him and the rest of the 'Canes. When you've earned that kind of respect , I guess you can trash them all you like.
...but nobody's going to agree with you anyway.....By the way , you aren't there , yet.
Even us oldtimers are behind ya , Hurricanes.

Surrender... step off !! We here on R.P. are a family ( a very disfunctional family ) BUT family none the less , if you don't wanna be in the family we are happy to see you out of the family. I love the Hurricanes as musicians and as friends so dude relax , if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all.
I'm glad I didn't have to fight in a war, I'm glad I didn't get killed or kill somebody, I hope my kids enjoy the same lack of manhood

There is truth to this! Well, not the way he means it. Unless it is meant that they come out, play, kick ass and have a few beers, take a break and kick ass on the next set "the same".no surrender wrote:Heard one show heard em all!
Felix is family by blood...and the other two Canes are family via music and via rock page. Bobby Lee is right, we may be dysfunctional, but we have each others back. And the rule here is, "Don't like it? You don't have to go listen to it." Support local music. Don't mock it. And if that was your "constructive critocism" for the eve, change your tune...and your tone. If you think they're only playing the same things...ask them to learn something new that *you'd* like to hear. They are like any other band. They have their set lists, but I can tell you that a Cane's show is never ever borring. And never the same show twice.

I apologize where I said fffing boring. Bobby's reply just set me off. I know the Canes work hard (as do all you great guys!) and they're great! I only meant it as a little constructive criticism that's all. Didn't mean to piss anyone off. Everytime I hear the canes seems like i'm hearing same tunes i heard last time and time before that. Dunno. Maybe it's just me. maybe I've heard those tunes too many times. Anyway the Canes do those tunes they do great! Luv the Canes! (that;s why i piped up in first place!) Now I'm going to SHUT UP!

No you look!! I started this thread about a funny dog and you, out of no where came up with that. Your the same jackass that i banned from the Hurricane forums for your assnine comments. Out of all our fans how come we only have a problem with you? I asked you months ago to introduce yourself at a show, before your ban. But you never did, im sure i know you but you want to keep this ident a secret on Rockpage. I could find out who you are but maybe now i dont care or would even want you at our shows anyways. Fans like this, who needs enemies! Geez!no surrender wrote:I apologize where I said fffing boring. Bobby's reply just set me off.
Maybe if you would have talked to us first you wouldnt look like you do now.
Lastly: Thanks to all who had our back on this, made me feel all warm and fuzzy!

"Had your back on this"?? All i said was I'd like to hear some new tunes. I wasn't being a smart ass but I should have said it 'better', sorry! You got a very short temper these days Bobby. The Canes are 'mature' and I'd like to see them move out of their comfort zone a bit, that's all i am saying. I know you have a huge following, I'VE SEEN IT! Like i said, prob just ME. Still a loyal fan here Bobby. PEACE! OK?Hurricane wrote:no surrender wrote:I apologize where I said fffing boring. Bobby's reply just set me off.
