War Of The Worlds

Post by songsmith »

Great movie... I loved it, as did my wife, who hates everything. ILM did the effects, which were top-notch. The story never sagged at all, no B-storyline, no romance, just aliens, explosions and killin'! Spielberg's called a genius for a good reason.
BTW, if you see it, note how he uses the terror and confusion we all felt on 9/11 to great effect in this movie... he uses so many references, if this movie came out a few years ago, he'd never work again, but enough time has passed.
Acting? Eh, Cruise is okay, Dakota Fanning gets on my nerves... the special effects and classic story are the real stars here.
Go see it, you'll like it.---------->JMS

I've been toying with the idea. I don't go to the theater too often just for the simple fact of - I have a pause button at my house. However, WOTW has been tempting me to go and see it.

For anyone who didn't know, it is at the Carolltown drive-in until next Thursday. It is the starting movie so you can leave after it if you wish ;)

I still can't get into Adam Sandler. I just don't find him funny. The same thing with Jim Carry. My girlfriend howls over his stuff, I just can't get into it. I guess it's the same thing with the Three Stooges. Can't stand them either.
Alterego's and peanut butter & jelly sandwhiches. The two most twisted things out there.
