I, for one, am not.

It looks dumb. They aren't offering any new information. And that Corey Feldmen look-a-like sucks. Hell, I'd take back Clooney.

D'oh!

Clooney!?!?!? Never.

I thougth Keaton would be horrible for the role... but he turned out to be perfect.

This movie looks action-packed. From the preview, it looks like they're tying R'as into Bruce's transformation into Batman... which is weird... but they always have to do wird shit for movies... and I don't know why.

What kind of new information are you looking for?

Cory Feildman is playing batman ??? The previews look good. I don't know if he will make a good batman though. I like Val Kilmer the best ..

All the critics so far like it (all meaning Ebert and Roeper).

I think it'll be fantastic. It's supposed to be dark!

Keaton was the only good Batman.

After Keaton, it didn't matter what the person looked like except from the nose down.

The whole transformation thing isn't new though, and that is why it's like blah. If they'd offer something new, now that'd be something.

J, I respectfully disagree. The only real transformation stuff they got in to in the '90s films was in the really bad Val Kilmer film (not as bad as the Clooney one, but still bad) with him falling into the cave. Still, not much time (none, actually) spent on how that little boy became the Bat.

This thing takes you through the transformation, from the tragedy of his parents' murders to his physical and mental training to become Batman.

From what I've seen and read, this will stack up to the original Keaton film in quality but will be much darker and, in my opinion, better.

The first movie still kills, though. You can have Danny DeVito and Michelle Phiffer, not to mention Jim Carey , TLJ, Alicia Silverstone and Arnold. Last three movies were bad, bad, bad.

I don't know. Michael was the best batman. Hands down. Why? Well, that was the first batman movie. Everything in it wasn't just done up on a computer like everything is today. Maybe if Clooney did the first movie, we'd be prasing him instead of Michael. But still. Batman 1&2 were the best. The rest just drug it down hill. Don't get me wrong, they were entertaining...but made me do the same exact thing...groan. "Not another batman movie"... he has to save the world. H e pitches a fit because no one understands him...

I think I'd feel the same way if they changed spiderman around. Or superman... like the movies were great...but all the soin offs? Lois and Kent... etc.

I guess the original was truely Adam West and Burt Ward for Batman and Robbin...but as movie standards go....Michael all the way.

Actually... there were Batman serials in the theatre's in the late 40's, way before Adam & Burt. ;)

Robert Lowery was Batman and Johnny Duncan as Robin.

The only thing that I'm dissappointed in is the new Batmobile. They always used to be sleek jet cars that look like they were setting land speed records at the Bonneville salt flats. The new Tonka Hummer Honky thing is trash man. It looks like it should be doing tractor pulls, mud boggin, and hill climbs!

I'm really not a big Bat-fan....I just love fast cars!

Keaton

Post by tornandfrayed »

I say Keaton was the best so far. There is a 10 minute trailer for this out on the net and it does look dark. Liam Neeson has a cool role and in the trailer they barely even blow anything up. I think that it might be a good flick.

As for giving you something more, don't look to Hollywood for that. The more rehashes I see the more I am dissapointed. It seems that H-wood suffers from a sever lack of creativity.

I saw the movie, I dug it. I think it ties with the '89 BATMAN as my favorite... I need to see it a few more times though.

I hate when they change minor details though, it really bites my ass.

It's cool.
British actor Paul Bettany has joined the race to play Batman's nemesis The Joker in a planned sequel to Batman Begins. Director Christopher Nolan left no doubt The Joker would feature heavily in the next Batman installment when the villain, formerly played by Jack Nicholson, left a calling card in the final scene of the box office smash hit. And now Batman fansites are desperately trying to make sure producers pick the right man for the job. Crispin Glover was an early favorite, along with Star Wars' Mark Hamill, who provides the voice of The Joker in the Batman animated series and Aussie actor Lachy Hulme, and now Bettany has got the fans' vote. An insider tells website Batman-on-film.Com that the A Beautiful Mind star is officially in the running to play the evil character.

Oooh, good topic! Who should be The Joker . . . .

Johnny Depp would do a great job of it, but something tells me Nolan will go for someone who is less of a "superstar".

Mark Hamill would be cool. He's really starting to look the part, with the withered perma-smile and all.

But ya know who I'd love to see as The Joker? Micheal Keaton. He's always had a gift for playing those twisted comic parts. And who could resist seeing Batman vs. former-Batman??
