Adelphia Pissin' You Off?
Adelphia Pissin' You Off?
I'm going to get f**king hostile here soon.
If anyone else out there had Adelphia DSL, does it keep messing up for you all? It seems like there isn't a day where it isn't going nuts and shutting off.
Does anyone know what is going one?

I'm glad I didn't have to fight in a war, I'm glad I didn't get killed or kill somebody, I hope my kids enjoy the same lack of manhood
Perhaps it is cable.
I live in Ebensburg, so...whatever office is closest to us.

Carrolltown
Yoy are serviced out of Carrolltown, is this just today or has this been on going? They are not reporting any outages or interuptions in that area at this time.

It's been the past couple of days.
If will go out for a few hours (1-2 at most) and then come back on.

I used to use Adelphia and had no problems with them till all of a sudden my bill went from $42 a month to $68 a month (well past my 6 month grace period). I called and asked about it and they told me they upped my service to the highest speed connection. I asked to be lowered down to where I was and got told that if I went any lower it would be only the same as 56k. So I had to go to Verizon, which in a way pissed me off because I never had a problem with Adelphia's service.
The funny thing is that when I called to cancel they offered me what I wanted when I last called, which I couldn't take because I had already switched.
But other than that, I thought they did a good job. Did you guys try calling to them to see what was going on? They might be doing something and forgot to notify you or not even know it's happening. Just curious, this ramble really has no point other than that I guess.....lol

Adelphia
I have also had shit service from adelphia the past month. Not too long ago it was out almost the whole weekend. Out for a few hours yesterday too. Sometimes it seems like it's out more often than not. I know when Atlantic BB (Charter) was gonna do something along the lines of service, they would send an email as to when, how long it would take and when to expect it back. Why can't adelphia do something like that?

I had Adelphia Cable Internet and and Television service .. Well, I should say Comcast now. They sucked, I hated them so bad that I got rid of them and got Dish Network and verizon DSL. They call me about once a week trying to get to go back to their service. I keep telling them no ..
As for problems with the internet, as far as the cable goes. About the only time I had a prob was with various routers I used. Some wouuld not allow the ip to be updated right. Or, if you had a firewall and it wasn't set up right you couldn't update the ip either. No ip means no connection ..
Your prblems could be because they are changing things over. I would call them ask. Tell them when you first talk to them to drop the Black Book mumbo Jumbo though ..

Music Rocks!
Verizon DSL baby!! I never have any issues! Here's what I don't get though... I live three miles from my parents, and DSL or Cable is not available to their number.... we're all on the same lines aren't we? I mean, I bought an old house.... the lines in that area haven't been touched in years and I got DSL.... what's the deal? Even Adelphia doesn't offer broadband in Cresson or Gallitzin... what's up with that?
Yeah, I know...even though 2.5 years ago when I built my house and initially got Adelphia because Dish Network didn't have locals yet the tech that installed my service said we were 6 months away from broadband.GUITARII wrote:Even Adelphia doesn't offer broadband in Cresson or Gallitzin... what's up with that?

I think Adelphia's original plans where delayed. I live in the middle of nowhere, and back when I had cable the cable guy said it would be 6 months until the cable would be run for internet capabilities. It was actually 3 years before they put the closet in Wilmore, and then ran the lines up to the heights. Maybe they are just working their way up 53

DSL customers need to be within a certain distance from a telephone co. "switching station" to operate. The further away from a switch, the less bandwitdth you can get until at more than 4 miles, it is not available.GUITARII wrote:Verizon DSL baby!! I never have any issues! Hey Jamie,
mine was down about a week, since I had cable TV, all the usual stuff didn't work to fix it and I could use dial up I assumed it was either there problem or the modem was bad ( wich I rent from them ) so I called and when the fella came out he checked the signal and told me it was low and probably from too long a run through too many splitters ( Yeah, I should probably tried a little harder to figure it out ) So anyway we ran a line straight to the cable box and it increased the signal and I got internet again. The good connectors may have helped also as opossed to the wally-world connectors I had on there.
Moral of the story? check the cable run and how many splitters you got in there, run a line straight outside or as close to the incoming signal as you can.

Don't bitch to me about the economy while you're still buying Chinese products.
