Par Lights
I have Par 64 cans that are 600 watts. Is there any way to hook them up so they draw less current?

I think that a par 64 reflector kit uses a 600W bulb. You may already have them Tim. The standard sealed beams are 1000W or 500W as far as I know.
To answer your question simply Tim, no.
Maybe someone will trade you for 56's or 38's. Are you trying to prevent having to buy more dimmer packs?

Not as far as current draw goes. The dimmer packs basically give you a way to control the lights.
The only way to lower the current draw is to raise the main voltage or decrease the wattage of the bulbs. Though some dimmer packs do run off of 240VAC, you'll still probably need some type of power distribution to do it correctly. A power dist. that has a 240V feed that splits off into several 15A or 20A 120VAC circuits could possibly solve your current draw problem without dimmer packs, as long as the 240VAC side has enough current source. A 240VAC, 15A circuit would max out on 6 600W par64 cans.

As a rule, Par64 reflector kits use 600W halogen bulbs, however, they do make a 300W halogen bulb that will fit. This guy on eBay can fix you up:

Par 64s are such a pain in the ass that I sold all of mine and bought Par 56 shorts with 300 watt bulbs. Lots of light light and no more blown circuits.
