I feel bad for those poor people who's house burnt down, it's one of the saddest things I've heard of in a long time. But your statement about how people should feel bad because they live in a nice house or have nice things is one of the more ridiculous things I have read on this board, especially when it doesnt help the issue of this thread. What about all the people with the $30,000 bikes that post on here? Should they feel like crap when they get on their nice new Harley to go for a ride? Or should everyone think twice before making extravagant purchases, like a new $3,000 drum set, or going on vacations, or buying themselves a new outfit, and donate it to the government to dole out as they see fit? Are you advocating socialism, where no matter how hard you work, everyone has equal housing & equal wealth?
Point taken but who is the deciding factor in the money chain ? Who decides who gets the big bucks and who's poor ? The people with all the money that hord it do

...no...the people who work for it do.

Seriously , Bud...I think you ought to start anotherr string for this discussion.

This is too important to clutter up with political crap.

Fershizzle!

Any interested parties please contact Rob via PM or his email. Responding to the thread with intentions of contributing can become cluttered and confusing. Thank you. :)

Sorry but it didn't start off as a benefit thread.

And everyone just remember that somewhere close somebody is in an equally dangerous situation and has nowhere to turn.

I'll stay out of this thread from here out but will lend a hand for this benefit if needed.

You're always cool about helping out , Buddy. I should know. If there's anything I can do to help I'd be more than happy to do so.

Yes, somewhere someone is an equally bad situation, but maybe this whole thing will serve as an example on the power of giving to those who really need it. Its bad that anyone goes thru this, but at the same time, if the people cant look to someone to help them, then it gets worse. People in this area are lucky to have people to help them, and hopefully this benefit will make a big difference, and a big impact. Not too many people care enough anymore about their fellow man to do something like this, but its a good cause, and shows that stuff can really get done when people band together and work for it.

Thanks for the kind words. I feel so bad for the families! I didn't talk to the guys about it, but I'm sure Billy and The Inmates would be willing to help. Let me know.

I agree, and I can only theorize as to why this happened in the bigger scheme of things (not in a Socialist way, either). Nevertheless, it is a tragedy, and Bert and the Mad Notes would like to lend a hand. We play a killer set full of the 80's Hair Metal bands that everybody forgot about, such as Tyketto, Bang Tango, Celtic Frost, Disneyland After Dark, and Shotgun Messiah.

as it so happens, i am very close with the lead guitarist of Billy and the Inmates. I'll run the idea by him so he can relay it to the rest of the group.

I'm speechless. My heart goes out to the families that lost loved ones in that fire. Davey is a great guy and was one of the first to give us the opportunity to start playing in bars.

As soon as my vacation time gets approved to come home and get my car, I'm going to book something for the cause. If there's a benefit happening already for the weekend I'll be there. You can count me in for sure. I'll keep you all posted and vice versa.

John, I hope you can make it up from Florida.

Clarance (played by Eddie Murphy) was the 5th Beatle.

I'm still working on it. I'll keep you all posted in whether I can make it or not for the show. I'm supposed to talk to my boss this week to work things out.

Kudos to you guys for doing such a great thing!
I wanted to let people know that the woman who lost her family members worked (or works) at Taco Bell in Altoona. The resturant has a poster at the window and you can give a donation there also.
I would love to be a part of this benefit but unfortunately my father and my father-in-law have both been in the hospital for over a month and I have been in Pittsburgh every spare moment. I was glad that I was able to give through Taco Bell and wanted to let y'all know in case you can't make the benefit.

Take Care!
