This Memorial Day Weekend...
Just a reminder to all Rockpagers to be very careful this weekend, whether you're out gigging or partying.
There will be a TON of police out patrolling this weekend, along with a lot of checkpoints in our region. We don't need any of our fellow musicians or fans getting tickets, DUI's, or worse, injured in a crash due to drinking and driving.
I personally encourage everyone this weekend to use common sense, carpool, take a cab, or whatever you need to do to be safe this weekend. I want to see all of you get out and party, but also make it home safely.
Oh, and take a moment to remember the REAL reason for this weekend. HINT: It's ain't no fucking mattress sale.
To all of my brothers and sisters who have served this country in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, and National Guard: Thank you, and Bravo Zulu.

Couldn't have said it better myself! And remember, some of my funniest stories have come from "wasted" taxi rides. No DUI's this weekend or ever for that matter guys, keep rockin!!!!!!!!

I echo all of the above sentiments; be safe on the roads this weekend, and remember those who have served to keep us free.
I'll throw in a plug for the "Backyard Rocker" Memorial Day Special - starting Sunday evening at 7, we'll take a trip down Local Music Memory Lane for 3 hours, pulling out tunes from past area bands and artists - some from as far back as 1975. During the third hour (9-10), we'll commemorate some of the area musicians who are no longer with us. This is one of the most popular "Backyard Rocker" programs every year, so check it out this Sunday!
On a side note, I am continually collecting recordings of past area bands for the "Backyard Rocker" archive - if you have recordings of past area bands, especially pre-1980, I'd be very interested in hearing them, or even possibly having a copy burned to CD or tape. Feel free to email me if you have such footage available!
