I can totally understand that man, but don't you think 80 is a bit slow??? HAHA...I'll not be stupid on it...you get these idiots that wear shorts and t-shirts on them and try to impress friends. I just love to ride, that's all.
Sweet Ride! We need to have a rockpager biker get together! Get some shirts made up, start a rockpage's angels biker gang haha! That would be a good time
You want to see ABATE at its best? July 30th we are having our Annual Poker Run. We're going to be starting at Magoo's in Cresson (I believe that's our starting point) and we're going to be traveling all over. The end result is a party with bands, food, and free beer! It's going to be $15 a person to get in or $25 a couple at the run...and then $15 a person reguardless at the gate. (Paying the 15 or 25 at the run gets you into the party too...the 15 price at the gate is the flat fee then if you didn't get in on the run).
You can ask Tonefight and his woman (never enough), and Bobby Lee (grimm), they were there last year. And I think they had a blast.
You don't need to be on a bike to do this. I've been doing runs for years, as a passenger. Last year was my first four wheel vehicle run (if you would like to contribute to the "Help DMFJ get a motorcycle so he can tool his woman about in style even though she has her lisense and looks hott on a bike in chaps and leathers but we're too broke to afford this sweet bike" fund, please PM me) and it was still a blast. You'll get to meet a ton of bikers, both ABATE members and plain riders alike. You'll get to meet people that don't ride, but still support the cause of choice and knowledge...and awareness of those sharing the road with you. All a bunch of great people. Plus, the money that we raise goes towards a beneficiary. Two years ago, we raised $10,000 for Alexandria McConnell, a baby girl (and my cousins kid) who needed a liver transplant to save her life. We've raised several thousands of dollars for various people.... lukemia patients, heart transplants, kids that lost their parent...we've helped make the last months of some people's life a little easier knowing that their bills will lessoned for their loved ones (some of our beneficiaries have sadly passed away, but their loved ones still remind us how much they appreciated our efforts in their life). All in all, it's a great cause and a great time.
Also, if you ever wanted to see what we do as members of ABATE, we have a meeting every month...the first saturday...at Magoos (cresson). It usually starts 3 p.m.'ish. Come check it out, have a beer, introduce yourself...and see what we're about.
Ah hell, while I'm on it...anyone want to buy a cooler of cheer ticket? It's good for you okay! $2... a ton of different tastey beverages...you know you want one...

I'll be the one left standing behind you, looking the other way as you glance back at what you've lost.
In Florida the other day, we're on the A1A doing about 70 mph, and this doofus was weaving in and out, passing on the right, left, and even on the dotted line between vehicles. Shorts & T-shirt. "Look at what a hard-ass I am, scaring old ladies!" I don't wish anybody any real harm, but a nice case of roadrash would have learned him good.---->JMS

Those are the idiots that are out there giving the rest of us bikers a bad name. I would actually rather have someone like that get involved in A.B.A.T.E. so that we could educate him on things rather than see him get roadrash. But, at the same time, I know that if he keeps up riding habits like that - the law of averages will eventually catch up to him and he will be lucky to escape with only road rash.

You guys are all welcome to do this ride. It's an annual event. I've done it about 5 years in a row. Great guys without 'tudes and all brands of bikes welcome.
That is a nice bike rob. I was thinking about getting one myself, not that caliber. Just something, like a honda shadow vlx (it's only a 600cc) or something, to ride around on .. The wife won't let me get it though
Robthedrummer, it's about 200 miles round trip,(back to SC). You can ride for as long as you want, then peel off or whatever. I may take my own way back from the Pa. Grand Canyon, too.
f. sciarrillo, if you decide to get a bike,(talk the ol lady into it) I'm selling a 2002 Honda VLX. Bought it for the wife, and she never rides it. It has less than 3000 miles on it. Mostly from me & my brother. It's mint condition, with Leatherlyke hardbags added. Here's a pic.
It was $5,200.00 brand new. We added hard bags to it ($400.00), so I'd like to get $4000.00 for it. It's a beautiful bike. I don't have any pix with the bags, but they lock with a key. They're the same as the ones on my bike in the pic above.
