Tonights Show at Ace's Lounge

Post by Matt_22 »

Anyone heading down to Ace's Lounge tonight? Any metal head on this forum should head to j town tonight catch the show at Aces. The headliner is Bury your dead(victory records). I can't wait to hear the breakdowns from the tom cruise tribute band. I'm not promoting, I just wondered if anyone else knew about this show and were planning on going.

Actually, I think the headliner is The Red Chord. The Red Chord headlined the show in Baltimore last night. Any idea how much it costs?

The show is $10...either The Red Chord or Bury Your Dead(according to the Ace's sign) will be headling. I'll be there...

Review from last night's show...

FUCKING AMAZING SHOW!! got to the ottobar & they wouldn't let us in at first (we were on the guestlist from the ottobar but it wasnt on their list because of the 18 visions show ending in a riot, but after explaining what happened they let me & my bro in)one of the best shows i've ever seen. told guy & mike from the red chord about having clients already & they were shocked but they said "hey oh well its cool" but they cheered up once i told them i'd buy it.

some of the guys i go to school with opened the show up. the band is Lovers & Killers. they were alright but they need to stop thinking they are gods. they try to hard to be DEP

if hope dies was up next. sick shit with lots of breakdowns. played around 7 songs. their set was
shop til you drop
roddy piper's magic sunglasses
the hungry ghost
& a few others

up next was a life once lost. this was my first time seeing them & i've been waiting for two years. so fucking good. their new material still has a little bit of a meshuggah feel but way more metal & solos are in there. talked to 4/5 of the guys, got cell numbers, email addresses & the bassist nick recognized me from myspace. i got punched in the mouth twice from bob when he gave me the mic & the guys were all stoaked that i was into them.
their setlist was
rehashed **new**
maudlin
**new song**
vulture **new song**
surreal atrocities (where i got decked)
needleman **new** (got decked during this one too)
the wicked will rot

following them was bury your dead. my God did they have that place moving. it was sick shit. tons of dancing & pile ons galore. they were fun as hell & i'll definitely catch em @ ozzfest. their setlist was
bury your fucking dead/top gun
vanilla sky
legend
eyes wide shut
mission impossible
the color of money
cammo is my favorite color (i think)
dragged out & shot
bury your fucking dead/mosh n roll

after them was the almighty red chord. holy fuck did these guys kill shit. such an amazing band. you guys will get a kick out of this: i actually interacted!!! i did my first pile on & i was the first one to hit the stage to dreaming in dog years. guy gave me the mic 4-5 times. their setlist was mighty nice & these guys were funny too. mike (bassist) is one of the coolest guys ever as he helped me get on stage after i tripped over my pants trying to get on. their setlist was
nihility
black santa
fixation on plastics
antman (got the mic)
that certain special ugly (got the mic)
upper decker
clients
like a train through a pigeon
blue line cretin
dreaming in dog years (got the mic 3 times & then piled on guy at the end)

hung outside & talked to justin (i talk to him on AIM all the time), meadows & carpenter from ALOL after the show about tons of random crap. my bro is submitting artwork to them & they are giving it a look. amazing show. if it comes to you, GO!

Bury your Dead headlined the Aces show. They must be alternating with the red chord. THe red chord and bury your dead were both unreal. These guys can play thier instruments. The only thing that pissed me off was that the jerk that put the show on payed 50$ for sound for these bands and we all know what you get for 50$. Bury your dead should have kicked this guys ass for the insult.
