That is sweet!

When I went hunting ( I have decided not to buy a license this year on principal of it being too expensive ), that is what I loved to do! Bow Hunting seemed much more like hunting than...plugging a deer with a rifle over 200 yards away.

Speaking of the price going up, I talked to the woman in the Hunting and Fishing dpt. in Wal*Mart yesterday, and she said that they were going up in price again!

Hell, a Fishing License with a Trout Stamp is $31.00 - unreal!

im glad you like. i have been a bow hunter for a while now and i got tired of how "tecnical" it has become. its not really that hard. put dot on target and pull triger. now i have no sights and have to do it entirely by feal. im only good up to about 25 yrds right now but with a bit more practice things will get better.

i will tell you it is definatly not cheep geting a hand crafted bow like that. it cost as much as getting a good compound. you just dont get suckerd into buying some of the hundreds of extras that exist for the compound. there is also a bit more pride when doing it the old fashoned way.

I agree, I think bow hunting is about a traditional skill. I have many friends that buy alot of the extras for thier bows and I would always ask why? to me it seemed to take the sport or out of it. only my opinion, but the main thing is I think fall bow hunting is the best time to be in the woods

Sweet Bow.....
I've been shooting bow since I remember and have been archery hunting since I was old enough. About 4 years ago, I threw away all techie devices. I still shoot a badass compound (Browning Afterburner), but there's no sights, no quiver, and an old school rest. I do use a stabilizer on it, b/c the thing will jump right out of your hands.

Although my hunting hobby has gone down the crapper since I've moved to South Florida, I do shoot once a week and still get on my once a year Boar hunt up in the middle of the state. Those things are crazy.

I love archery... I always shoot targets though, never hunted.

I'd shoot one of my recurves any day over a compound... but then again, compounds & targets, what's the point?
