Whither CuCuPlex?

Post by Prrthd81702 »

Just got onto rockpage and noticed that CuCuPlex is no longer on the band pages. I went to their web page, and there is only the message: "Sorry, everything is cancelled." I have gone to a lot of their shows recently and things were starting to pick up. In all of the photos I took for the site, everyone was having fun, so I don't understand what's going on. Anyone have any idea if they broke up or what's going on with them? Those guys really know how to entertain, so I hope it's just a tiny snafu. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

There name was starting to get out a little and I was hoping to hear them sometime. Unfortunatly I've learned that " Shit Happens ". Keeping things going with work and family schedules can be difficult as well as just getting along when different members have different ideas of what they want to do.

Here's what it comes too.....
This is Scott, Things were going good for us..more people more money which I luv as well. I've had some problems with my voice for the past few months and have been trying to recoup as best I can still havin to play every weekend. I don't want to cancel shows as long as I try my best which I did. Anyways which probably happens alot...is the band excluding me decided to find someone to replace the broken down singer..lol...
It would have been one thing to tell me the plan, rather then be sneaky and just decide not to tell me.
Anyone that has seen and did appreciate I do thank very much!
My motto for the band which I thought was well put is:
Were not the Best, but he have a blast doing it
Thanks

Anyone looking for a singer needs to pick him up, whatever style music you play. His voice sounds great in anything he sings, country, rock, metal, anything. You won't be out of work long, man. Good luck.

It's kinda funny... You're not the first person I've heard or seen that done to. For a group of guys to be brothers playing...then it comes down to that one weak thread... Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking discussing possibilities of what to do when your "weak thread" isn't around....it cuts down of hurt feelings alot...but if you don't have a meeting together discussing things WITH them there too, then that's wrong.

SO.... Sorry you were ousted man. Y'all were really cool and I enjoyed jammin' out to your stuff. Good luck!

Scott, you're a helluva singer, you'll be back onstage in no time... take your time, so your voice heals.
I know I harp on my past experience a lot, but I tell people things so they can learn from my mistakes/lessons. My thought on this issue is thus:
Bands do come and go, and personnel changes are part of the deal. I realize that sounds crass and insensitive, but I've found it to be true. I was in Thin Ice with guys who I've known since early childhood, diaper-days, and when it ended, I didn't talk to a guy who was closer than my own brother for months... in retrospect, it was stupid. We got over it. Time marches on, and some things aren't meant to be, no matter how much you thought they were.
A career is a journey, not a destination. You don't play your first gig thinking about what you're going to do when you retire.
My advice: Heal, move on, have fun, and be open to still being buds... you'll all get over it, and still be friends.------->JMS

Hey everybody, CuCuPlex wants everyone to know that everything isn't cancelled and we still want everyone to come have an awesome party at our shows. Scott, getting rid of you wasn't our objective, we we're just jammin' and havin a good time at a party and we think you may have been misinformed. But since you quit we all wish you the best of luck and hope you find the guys for the Sublime Tribute band. It will be awesome, we're sure of that. If you need anything don't hesitate to call, We'll be there for you. Sincerely Bill, Phil, & Dave. With that said we still want to rock on, and hope everyone will help us welcome DANNY MARTINO to the cucuplex family. We're all very excited to get back on stage and play some new material. Our site will be back up in no time with our dates. Martino's 1st show will be at the Anchor inn Saturday April 23rd, and we will be in Altoona Friday April 29th at City limits, We hope to see you all there!!!!!!!!!

Might sound crzy but sublime is my band and i've been dying to get a tribute band together....I could use some help though, so if anyone does know of any bass players...guitar players that would be down wtih that please pass this along to them.

Wow, call me cynical, but for this being just a big misunderstanding, you sure did find a replacement for Scott pretty quick.

Good luck in your search for a new gig, bro.
That's what she said.
