Post by Jim Price »

Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the May 8 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

Thanks to our guests via phone, Brad Hammer and Matt Majot of Pittsburgh rockers Daily Grind (http://www.dailygrindmusic.com/#music-1)! We discussed the latest Daily Grind happenings, and heard tracks from the group's new album, I Did Those Things! Along the way, we debuted a new song from Of Our Decade, updated "Local Music News," dug a 2003 song by Josa Step from the archive for this week's "Local Music Flashback," and reviewed Joe Newtz's Crossing Over CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

PURE CANE SUGAR - "Babblefish" (live)
MATT WAGNER - "You Never Know"
DAILY GRIND - "Low Life"
OF OUR DECADE - "Anthem of Our Decade"
DAILY GRIND - "All My Friends"
WOLVES IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING - "Black N' Blues" (live)
DAILY GRIND - "Haystack"
THE HAWKEYES - "Had Enough"
THE NICK MILLER PROJECT w/GABE GREEN - "Shoulda Known"

JOSA STEP - "Lacerta" (2003, Local Music Flashback)
DAILY GRIND - "The World Is Yours"
THE PERKOLATORS - "Give Me My Love"

On our next program, we'll provide maximum local and regional music as we revisit the mailboxes and check out new recordings that have arrived in recent days! Along the way, we will update "Local Music News," dig a "Local Music Flashback" from the archive, and review Don Hoffman Bluz's Unfinished Business CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"
