Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the March 13 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.
This week, we got an early jump on the annual St. Patrick's Day festivities by presenting our annual "St. Paddy's Day Special!" For two hours, we spotlighted the local and regional bands and artists who do their music with a wee bit of the Irish flavor! We heard area musicians offer their own original Irish-themed songs, their treatments of time-tested Irish folk and pub songs, and more! Along the way, we updated "Local Music News," remembered the late Dan Myers Sr. with a 2004 live performance number with the Irish Rattlers for this week's "Local Music Flashback," stepped "Across State Lines" to hear an Irish-flavored number from Baltimore's Nua, and reviewed Barleyjuice's This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"
Here is this week's playlist:

Since it has been a few weeks since we have checked the program's mailboxes, we will spend our next edition of the "Homegrown Rocker" exploring and airing new music that has arrived in recent weeks. Along the way, we will update "Local Music News," dig a song from a past band or artist from the archive for our "Local Music Flashback," step "Across State Lines" to hear a tune from an independent band or artist from outside of PA, and review Doug Irwin's The Bridges That Burn CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"
