The SAGA continues...at MIDNIGHT!

Post by JayBird »

Anyone else heading out to Wal-Mart, Toy's R Us, Target, K B Toys, K-Mart...anywhere at midnight for the release of the new Star Wars toys. I'm heading to Altoona...more selection in toy stores as compared to Indiana. I'm gonna even try making it to Sam's Club to see if they have anything. Happy hunting...

I have all 32 of the first wave released. I also have a few that slipped into boxes from the second wave (#'s...35, 38, 40). I'll have all 56 here shortly! I was able to land a few of the hard to find RED Royal Guards. I also got some of the VERY hard to find Holographic Yoda TRU exclusives. The only one that I'm bumbed about is the Lava Darth. Only 50,000 made and they are a Target exclusive. Only about 25-32 were given at each Target store...I missed out on getting him. I didn't get home that night (or next morning) until about 5:00. I was back up at 7:30 heading back to Altoona the next morning. I guess I could have worse addictions! We started at the Wal-Mart in Altoona, then hit the one in Ebensburgh, then headed to Blairsville, and finished up in Indiana. We also got some cool store displays from Ebensburgh and Indiana. If i can figure out how to get pictures to load on here I'll post some.

I saw those yesterday as well when I got yet another Darth action figure. It's pretty cool - he has this sheild with the Imperial logo on it...it's tough.

Hey Jay, do you know if the Wal*Mart in Indiana had any of the dolls? The Wal*Mart in Ebensburg only has The Emperor, and Clones.

The Wal-Mart in Indiana has a few "Changes" dolls. The $50.00 one that turns from Anakin to Darth. They also have the Emperor and Clone Trooper. As far as any other 12" dolls...I was just there today and nothing new. Right now every Wal-Mart has the OVER PRODUCED figures that will still be sitting on the shelves this coming x-mas.

I watched that whole "Daily Show" yesterday, and the "Moment of Zen" at the end of the show was this guy standing in line outside of a store saying "I have way too many toys that I'm too old to play with".
... and then the wheel fell off.

It's just funny how usually guys are quick to anger when someone calls it a "doll", yet they openly announce it's a 'doll'.. which is it?

I'm a huge toy collector also but I've never really been into the star wars figures. I have a few originals and a hand full from the first wave of new figures in the 90's still in the box. Couple of AT-ATs and some other mix & match stuff but that's about it. My apartment looks like a damn toy store but it's mainly resident evil, pumpkinhead, transformers, etc.

And I also tell everyone Hey.... I could be addicted to a lot worse stuff than toy collecting.

I liked John Stewart's comments on the "Darth Tater"..."Perfect for those who crave evil but wish it were starchy".
and the "M&M Jedi"..."The peanut is strong in this one".

In the heirarchy of geekdom, those who differentiate between dolls and action figures are probably near the top. Congrats! ... I think. :)

I went hunting the other day and picked up some more Vader.

( For the record, I don't collect anything else from Star Wars aside from Vader)

I picked a Darth pez dispenser.

An action figure from the 97? set, un opened.

And one from 77, it is sweet!

There are a few more on my list to pilfer yet, but oh yes...they will be mine!
