Would anyone be interested in an "Amp-Fest"?
If there's enough interest, I'd be willing to organize an Amp-Fest. If you've never heard of such a thing, allow me to explain the concept.
1. A group of people meet at a pre determined location.
2. Members of this group can bring amps for other members of the group to try. Ideally some of the amps will be out of the ordinary. This will give folks a chance to play amps that they might not necessarily have access to.
3. Alcohol will be consumed and good times will be had.
What say ye, Rockpage guitarists?

I'm in. Don't know if you had a time in mind, maybe after the holidays? May be able to bring a few other players with me as well.

It's not an original idea. It's done a lot on some of the other forums and I thought it would be cool to try it in this area.bassist_25 wrote:Awesome idea, Mel. If y'all welcome bass players, I have a few cool amps you may all want to check out.
I'd say that everyone would be welcome because I wouldn't want to exclude someone that is interested in participating.
If anyone is interested, just post that you're "in". If you intend on bringing an amp along, tell us the make and model and we will get a list compiled of the amps/cabs that will be there.

Hopefully Mongo can make it out. He has a few amps.
It might be worth asking a few music shops if they want to bring down some merch to demo.
It would be really awesome to have a full-on jam session so we could hear how some of these bad boys sound in a band situation

I think if you get music stores and bands involved it will turn into a cluster fuck. I want to keep it laid back.

Man, I'd really like to hear that Cameron modded Marshall. I've heard some pretty good things about his stuff. The Shadow wrote:Here's what I'll bring if this turns out to be a go.

I'm going to go ahead and say that this will be a "go", based on the interest so far. I'll look into the venue this week. Once I confirm that, I'll start a new thread that's updated with the members that will be there, as well as what amps will be there.
I'd also like to add that folks are welcome to come even if they aren't going to, or for some reason can't bring an amp with them.

I can bring a /13 TBL200 and some kind of Bergantino cab, either an AE410 or NV610 or an Aguilar GS112. If there are going to be any other bass players in attendance, I could bring a Mesa 400+ or an early 90s SVT-II nonpro. I know that if you've seen/heard one SVT you've seen/heard them all, but the II nonpro is a really cool amp.

This sounds like a good time waiting to happen.
If I can make it, along would come:
Mesa Basis M-2000
Acme Low B4-II
Many assorted pedals(yes, some are meant for guitar)
Maybe those of us that are a little farther away from J-town could carpool?

This could be a deal breaker! The big question, though, is how is the beer selection?

It's impossible to know the burdens carried by any man or demons that haunt his steps.

Sounds like a great idea. Like an icebreaker for a Meet and Greet".
Here's an old hog. A late "60's"American made Vox "Super Beatle". Most high tech and expensive amp at that time. Cost 12 hundrend bucks back when a bottle of pop cost a nickel! Three channels including a bass channel and reverb, tremlo, fuzz, MRB, repeate percussion, Tone-X, and a built in "E" tuner. I don't have the original cabnet but I have the head and foot switch.
All transistor and LOUD! The one on the left.
