Maybe just me...

Post by CMOR »

WARNING: PERSONAL RANT
Read at your own risk.

I don't post here a lot,but I do peruse the page every day or three. That being said...
I'm sure they are good people, but I hope nobody was hoping to sell anything on here. I know I'm lazy and won't usually go past the first page of the For Sale section. The posts don't typically move a lot in the course of a day. That being said. somebody needs to relax with the gear sale posts. Do you run a store that you have that much stuff laying around?

Sorry, it was really bothering me. Bash away.

While I wholeheartedly agree with Bushy that Steve is a douche...

I do know of two members here that run EBay stores and do also post items here on RP to give local musicians a heads-up on what they have. I don't do much buying or selling as none of their items are drum-related, but I can see where it would be frustrating. But, I also see where these guys want to make sure that local cats know that they have stuff for sale.

Kevin, I think that my esteemed bass playing colleague, Steve, doesn't have a problem so much with anybody running an Ebay store and also posting gear here. I think he's inferring that instead of making 20 separate posts one right after another for discreet items in the Classified forum that it may be a bit more courteous to put everything into a single thread.

Of that I am fully aware, Paul, and as noted in my post, I can certainly see the frustration, as I have been frustrated as well with the situation. I was attempting to see both sides of the situation, and understand things from the EBayer's side as well.

From a shopper's perspective, I'd rather read one post with ten guitars in it than open ten individual posts. Especially since the posts don't have thumbnail pictures a la eBay.

On a side note, I only just now realized what "CMOR" means. I always thought it was an acronym for something but it's really obvious when you pronounce it out. D'oh!

At the very least is gives us something to argue, ahh, I mean it gives us something to discuss.

Like Kevin I see both sides. But I moistly side with the guys doing all the posting, especially if a Rockpager finds something he's looking to buy. And I find it easy to scan down to see what they're selling.

The only problem, which is minor, is that if you're selling something you have to occasionally bump it back to page one.

Geez, why don't I just call out the elephant in the room for you guys.

Jendel, could you please combine some of your postings in the Classifieds section like Bob/Mongo does rather than posting so many individual threads, which inundate the entire forum? It would be greatly appreciated.

Why are we musicians always so damn passive-aggressive?

Not bad of an opinion...

But to be truthful maybe we could use some better "Guidelines" for the newer members to follow...

That would make it better, and easier to the eye

How else are we supposed to fuel the emotions that compel us to write and perform music?

I didn't mean to start anything, just wanted to get it out.

And I don't need to defend myself to the likes of you two(Bushy & Kev), but get it right, I'm an a$$hole, not a douche.

I don't computer much at all, so I fully understand how tricky it can be to post something, let alone lots of somethings. I've posted pictures and it's like pulling teeth.

Really, what do you expect to find in free classifieds?

But, yeah, "douche" is not the right word.
