Hello Rockpagers!
It's been a long time since I've been on the site, but it's good to be back. A couple of friends and I are starting a non-profit positive news site called The Shift that will feature video podcasts and community building stories thoughout Huntingdon County (with the possibility of future expansion). With my background in local music, I immediately thought that this broadcast would also give us the opportunity to promote original local music. I'd like to feature local music in the background of every news broadcast and would write the band name and the song in the lower right corner of the screen as the song was playing. What I need from you is your original music! (Sorry, no recordings of cover songs).
If you are interested in getting involved, contact me at hicksjd9@icloud.com. You can send me your songs in electronic form or via mail, but make sure that every song is clearly labeled with song title and band name, you can also send albums to Joshua Hicks, 622 7th Street, Huntingdon, PA. Make sure you give me a name, contact number, web address (if applicable), and any other information you'd like to add to help me contact you.
We can't pay you for your music (I wish we could!), but we CAN give you lots of local exposure. Sending an album or a song to us (electronically or through the post) implies that you are giving your full permission for us to use it on our broadcast, as well as permission for us to place your band name and contact information on our website. Sending in your songs doesn't guarantee play time, but I will guarantee that IF your song plays, you will get credit with band name and song title on the broadcast. I will do my best to notify you, or have our music manager notify you. We will also set up a page on our site dedicated to "musicians on our broadcast," that will link to your band site (along with other bands that we have featured).

Is there anyone out there that wants to get their songs out to a local audience? When I was in bands, we were always looking for opportunities like this. Free exposure with no strings attached. It can even be music from previous bands that are no longer playing out. I would just like a way to honor local talent for their creativity.
