GROVE GUITARS CUSTOM '51 P BASS "FREEKBASS ATLAS"

Post by MOONDOGGY »

I bought this and the other Grove bass I have listed because they are just amazing unique instruments made with top notch components. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to have these. But I now have other expenses that take priority. I will most likely keep whichever one doesn't sell.

This bass was built for Cincinnati funk icon, Freekbass. He used it live and recorded several tracks on his solo album.

Here's the maker's website. Scroll about two-thirds of the way down on the Bass page to find this bass along with some build pics:

http://www.groveguitars.com/

- chambered darkened grain mahogany reverse '51P body
- Atlas Explosives dovetailed crate top with F-hole
- Warmoth lightly flamed maple neck with rosewood fingerboard (Notice, some pics show it with a maple fingerboard. The neck was changed by Scott Smail (Grove owner).
- Lindy Fralin split coil '51 P pickup
- chrome German Schaller tuners
- BadAss II bridge
- Volume/Tone setup with CTS pots
- orange drop .047uF cap
- A-B 15k resistor
- nitro clear coat
- strung with D'Addario Pro Steels

Price: $875. I can include gigbag if you prefer.
