OK - so it ain't as cool as the RockPage....

Post by J Michaels »

...but I just created my first website. Our band, Big Bang Theory, needed one, so I took it upon myself to figure out how to use MS-FrontPage enough to get something usable, and got it hosted pretty cheap (I won't mention where, since some of our friends on the RockPage are in the business - I'm just using the place where Skruem (my other band) has their site hosted.)

Anyway - check it out....

Nothing fancy, but I'm feeling pretty cool that I did this pretty much all on my own for the first time. :D

Hey J,

I was prompted for a password when I tried to go to your site. :?

In the words of Tim the Tool Man Taylor, "Unnghh?!?!"

Anyone else having any trouble? One person said the graphic was covering the navigation buttons, but those are the only 2 problems I've heard so far.....

Hey J;

I CAN reach your site from the URL you posted in the services forum. I don't know why I get the password prompt in this thread.

Great to see you jammin' with Tony Scaltz. I studied theory under him for a while. He's one of the best players around.

Some of the pics will not open for me on the index page when I use Mozilla. I can't find them by url either.

In IE it's fine.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I think some of the problems are stemming from teh fact that I used FrontPage to create all of it, and I have been told that perhaps FrontPage inserts weird shit into the html, and that anything but Internet Explorer has translation problems with sites created with FrontPage. News to me - I thought html was html, but the proof seems to be in the pudding, so to speak.

Anyone know where I can get Dreamweaver cheap? :D

Thanks again for the feedback - this community of musicians is freakin' awesome!

Depends on which version you use.

I had to set up a web server with FrontPage Extensions recently, and thus had to do a lot of testing with FrontPage 2003. I was very surprised at how cleanly it did the HTML compared to the older versions. The older ones made a hella mess.

It even has an option to leave your existing HTML, if you have any, completely alone.
