This is one of the SX Jaguar copies. This one has the old headstock, and I forget what they were called before they renamed everything Ursa.

When I bought this, it had Fender Roadworn jazz bass pickups in it, and the neck was refinished in nitrocellulose. Unfortunately in shipping the back of the bass was damaged, it took a small amount of wood out, and a sizable chunk of paint. Since it is on the back of the bass, it didn't stop me from adding a custom gold pickguard, cream pickup covers, switch and knobs. The roller pots, and the switch on the top of the bass are not hooked up to anything, its wired volume/tone and the 3 way pickup selector switch in the front works. There is a small crack in the pickguard by the input jack, which happened almost immediately after I put it on. I put some glue on it and it has held fine. The routing under the pickguard is an absolute mess, if you care about that sort of thing, but its all under the pickguard. The decal is just inkjet printed on translucent sticker paper, and I'd be happy to remove it before shipping. I can include the original tort guard, and I'll include the original control plate if I can find it.

This one plays great. The decal on it is my bands name, and I was playing this as my main bass for a while, because it looks so cool.

I bought this at Guitar Center when I was visiting a friend in Colorado. When I bought it, it didn't work, and the string spacing was all kinds of messed up, do to a hand cut brass nut. I put a new nut on it, and wired the pickup directly to the output jack, and it sounds amazing.

This is not an example of high-end luthier work, The fingerboard is incredible looking, and the quality of the bass drops off from there. The black around the edges of the fingerboard I'm assuming is glue, the finish on the neck is brushed on, but not too bad. The body is actually pretty decent. The bridge appears to be on a little crooked, but not so bad that you can't intonate it. I adjusted the truss rod today, and the nut is mostly stripped. I'm not sure how fixable that is. There's a cardboard shim in the side of the neck pocket.

I don't really want to part this out, because I feel like I'm going to end up with the worst pieces of it. So if you only want the body and pickup, you can buy the whole thing and part it out.

I preordered this bass the day it was announced for presale from Samash. I bet I was one of the first 10 people in the country to have it. It is brand new, except for new Labella strings in gauges .102, .076, .057, .042, .030, .022. I got the gauges from a thread on here discussing string Bass VI strings, they are pretty balanced, and a world of improvement from the stock strings, which have less than 30 seconds playing time on them, and will be included as well as the truss rod and bridge wrenches.

I realize my asking price is the same as a new one, but this is new in every way except the vastly improved strings, which are not an insignificant expense, and I still don't think you can actually buy these things on a regular basis yet.

The band I play in goes straight from one song to the next, and I don't have time to switch basses if I don't feel comfortable playing a song on this, which is the only reason I'm selling it.

Trades I am interested in
I'm looking for a cool fretless bass, something different from what I always buy, which is Fenders. I've been looking for a Cort Curbow fretless. I had one years ago, and sold it for some reason, and looking back it was my favorite fretless, but I will take a look at anything interesting. I'd prefer unlined, but if its cool enough, I will consider lined. I won't consider a lined Fender style.

I'd be interested in trying a Jack Casady bass, and I will consider any Fender bass in a cool color, or just a body in a cool color (not sunburst, white, black, non-metallic or non-fiesta red, something surf colored or sparkly or eye-blindingly bright)

If anyone would part with an unloaded Jaguar body (any color) I would love to trade for it, or buy it from you outright.

I can add or subtract cash to any deal.

I will respond to any PMs, and I'm not easily offended, so offer away.
Stand back, I like to rock out.
