Benefit show ... Looking for a venue.

Post by TheBMC »

I'm planning to organize a benefit event for a person in need of some help while she is fighting a battle with cancer. I'd like to do this at a VFW, moose, legion or some other club that has a game of chance license so we can offer 505/50's, baskets ect.

I have played many venues around Altoona but I have never played at a club and I don't have any good contacts for these venues. If there is anyone out there that has a contact and could help get me in touch with the right person I would be very greatful.

Once I have the venue locked in I will be looking for some bands, I will be looking to do this in March the weekend of the 22nd/23rd.

Thanks Everyone!

Just because the club has a license for games of chance, it does not give the benefit the right to have games of chance. Please call your local authority and get the advice you seek.

The license is very specific about the club benefiting from the profits, not an outside source.

Here is contact information:

County Treasurer
James Carothers
814-693-3120

Also bare in mind that many benefits have had auctions and 50-50 without a license. But I'm not suggesting that...
