clip of something NEW - UPDATED!!!

Post by KeithReynolds »

Most everything I have worked on in a cpl yrs have not been posted here. Today is different.

*UPDATE*
HERE IS THE FULL INSTRUMENTAL VERSION. VOX COMING
https://soundcloud.com/firesound-produc ... hanic-demo

Some facts about this demo clip:

*I wanted to write something a bit different than what else im doing.

*It has more in common with 80's pop than anything else.

*Its not in Drop W.

*This is a collaboration between Max and myself. His guitar work is exactly what I wanted. He nailed it and took the song vision to the perfect place. Such a diverse guitarist. He is just the best to work with. I dont even bother touching a guitar anymore because I have him to provide pro playing.

*There are no vocals yet. When finished, vocals will be done by the very talented Clovis Weatherby.

*Once done, it will be posted to hell & back and available for purchase online.

*Max & I write and record together a decent amount. You will be hearing more in the future. We are proud of what we do.

*Wait until you hear one of our metal songs.

*hopefully I wont have to go into mp3's, compression and audio quality. the wav sounds better.

FOR THE RECORD...You dont have to like it, we wont be sad. We are well aware that musical taste varies. You can even say that it cleans camel scrotum 6 days a week...and no offense taken.

Thanks mitch! that means alot.

I did forget to mention that all guitar and bass in that clip were just done direct, going through plugins.

annnd...The metal song is almost done. Just needs to be mixed again and a few things added.

Ive got things with rappers im working on, the SOUL MECHANIC material, and id like to pick up some acoustic recording projects also. Im not able to record an entire band at the moment. Ill be cranking out band's albums starting in January id say.
Any interested ppl can message me. ;)

We're working on it...honest! Both songs are about at the same level; pretty much complete except for vocals. I'm very anxious to hear them finished.

Thanks for the compliment MeYatch. :) Glad you like it.

Some good stuff there. It definitely has a Midnight Oil type of vibe - tasteful guitar work. I hear some early Knopfler influence.
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

First thing I thought of was Alan Parsons, very cool! Keep it up! Also sounds like you are having fun doing it... Kudos!

I was thinking the Cure but either way it's total 80's new wave.

Thanks for the kind words guys! Glad you like it. I do like Knopfler's playing and, in fact, I did play those parts sans plectrum. Just my fingers.

It does have a very etheral vibe to it. Love the keys at around 1:10. Nice way to flesh out and reinforce the main theme.

Finally got to listen to this and kudos. The best way for me to describe it was it drew me in and kept me there. Fantastic simplicity that leaves plenty of room for your own imagination. The guitar tone is killer. Well done!!

Thanks guys!!!!!
The finished track will be much better obviously. Music is all done. Just needs vox. We are very proud of this, and to get such a positive response makes it that much better.
