I just heard a news report that our government wants to lower the Blood Alcohol limit more.
My god you'll soon have to wait 2-3 days before you'll be able to drive after taking cough medicine due to the alcohol in it.

Hi Ray, I find it hard to bekieve that 100 countries have adopted the .05 alcohol limit.
Anyway here's a quote fro the article.
Anyway here's a quote fro the article.
"It was very difficult to get .08 in most states so lowering it again won't be popular," Adkins said. "The focus in the states is on high (blood alcohol content) offenders as well as repeat offenders. We expect industry will also be very vocal about keeping the limit at .08."
Even safety groups like Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and AAA declined Tuesday to endorse NTSB's call for a .05 threshold. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which sets national safety policy, stopped also short of endorsing the board's recommendation.

Pretty soon, you'll be considered legally drunk just for handling clean shot glasses. Bartenders, bouncers, and soundguys will be considered drunk just because they smelled alcohol. The thing I like most is that not even madd is supporting it, and them bitches are crazy.
Can you identify a genital wart?
Maybe I'm a bit paranoid here, but it seems more and more like the powers that be want people to stay home at night, instead of going to taverns and public places to fraternize with one another and discuss the issues of the day. Stuff like lowering of blood-alcohol limits smells like scare tactics to keep people indoors at night. It's a slow return to prohibition, and seems like a further control measure to keep the masses obedient.
If .05 ever gets passed, bye bye nighttime entertainment scene. Not only that, but think of how this would pull the rug out from under lots of other things, such as Pints For Pets Brewfest, Altoona Curve games (not to mention Pirate games and any other event where people might be inclined to sip a cold one), and lots more. I hope more rational heads prevail.
