Post by SkarmaSutraMusic »

I rarely get to go out anymore having custody of son 4 days a week but, when I do it is to see Felix and the Hurricanes.. My Favorite local band. Even though I am a Metal Head/Grunge Guy I find these Cats to be thee Band.

i can't really pick one as a favorite, there are a lot of groups that i love to go out and see. The Hurricanes of course, they are probably the first on the list but then you've got, The Hawks, Naildriver, Black Sun, Samara, Locked & Loaded, Punk Fiction etc etc ha.

If i had to absolutely just pick one, it'd be the Hurricanes. But i absolutely love the local music scene. lots of talent out there!

While I'll occasionally venture out for different musical tastes from other bands, I generally stick to my metal roots. Naildriver, 10 Million Devils, Twisted & Used, Samara, etc. are the names I've most commonly seen in recent years (although those bands have also been around in some way, shape, or form for several years anyway). However, I've heard of others that I may have to check out more at some point

With a looming job change putting me on 3rd shift soon though, I may not be out even as much as I've been lately. But as I've told Kevin, that doesn't mean I can't try to set a night off to do something fun

I haen't been out in years...I know, I suck and I need to get off my fat ass and go see some new bands. I really like Naildriver, I saw them a couple of times years ago but haven't gotten a chance to see them lately. I greatly respect the Hurricanes...they are always out there, at bars, at festivals...ALWAYS and playing what they love. I respect the hell out of their dedication!
Bands that I'm extremely excited to see because I've heard great things about them (if I ever get around to it) the Rhythm Sharks, the Hawks, Flood City Brass, 10 Million Devils, and of course Mr. Rainey's new band (Shindiggin, right?) which I was going to go to see, but forgot which night they were at Aldo's...lmao!

And John, it sucks that your schedules going to change...are you leaving your current job or just changing positions?

'Canes, and thanks to last night, now Miss Melanie and the Valley Rats too (holy shit). Pat McGinnis's solo stuff is great too
Laugh if you want to, really is kinda funny, 'cause the world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.

My favorite band is the band I'm in. I know that sounds fairly jerk-like, but I love my band. I hope everybody loves the band they are in. I'd much rather make music with my friends than watch someone else.
